The announcement finally dropped and I don’t have to keep this under wraps anymore. HAPPY GLOBAL ACCESSIBILITY AWARENESS DAY. This is the XBox Adaptive Controller. This is me and how I’ve found use for my prototype that I’ve had to work with for a while. I streamed as the announcement dropped and it got very emotional very fast. I cried. A lot. So did a bunch of people who were watching. It is SO huge. Not just the technology (which is super cool) but the fact that this is a mainstream product that’s beautiful, sleek, stylish and fits with the rest of my peripherals. THIS is the future of accessibility. No more hacked together bits and pieces, no more institutional, hospitalized adaptive tech. This is what the future looks like to me as a disabled person.
