One of my goals in going to Benin, was to see if there were any herbs used there for women's health that also has documented usage among traditional Black Southern Midwives. I was geeked when Moji started pulling different herbs from a bag for a women's formula and in a very small bag there was about 1 tablespoon of whole cloves. If you've taken my class, you know how cloves were used by Southern Black Midwives. These are the links that show we have a continued legacy of healing that was unbroken by the TransAtlantic Slave Trade. It doesn't mean that other cultures don't also use clove.
