Four years ago I quit my job in finance and decided to go to nursing school. While going to nursing school full-time, I also worked full-time night shifts and managed my household with three children. I am often asked “how do you do it all?” & my answer is simple: I plan for it. My Erin Condren LifePlanner gave me a place to do just that. I used my planner daily to manage my endless due dates, clinicals, exams, my kids’ school plays and baseball practices, doctors appointments, birthdays, holidays, date nights, fitness routines, meal plans, and more. In May 2019, I fulfilled my calling and graduated nursing school. I graduated with honors, received the award for Clinical Excellence, and gave a speech at my graduation ceremony. I passed my boards and landed my dream job. I managed to do all of this while raising three kids, which was never easy. During this time our world was rocked when we also discovered our youngest son was struggling with developmental disabilities. If that’s not enough, I simultaneously made and reached goals to travel to 3 countries and 10 U.S cities, and worked to lose 50 lbs in the last year. If it sounds like this was , it’s because it was! I’m thankful to have made it through and there is just no way I could have accomplished any of this without my lifeplanner. When I was 14, I watched a nurse take care of my older sister in the hospital after she had a baby. I watched her care for my darling new niece. It was that day that I decided that I wanted to be a nurse. Life threw some curve balls my way, however, and my career was placed in the back burner. The call never left me, though, but after 5 kids, I thought getting a second degree was just a dream. Last year, my husband encouraged me to try again. I buckled down, aced my prerequisite courses, and with the help of my @erincondren Lifeplanner, I was accepted into a very competitive nursing program. I honestly can’t believe it sometimes. It’s happening, guys! It’s a decade later than I thought it would be, but we can do anything we set our mind to. Planning is the first step.
