After the extensive question answer session on the stories, I picked up on few questions, one being do I share all my assignments on Instagram? And the answer was no. Most of my work is commerical/ advertising and lifestyle and I have been very busy with excatly those in the last few weeks hence the absence on the feed. I am sharing one of my recent fashion shoot photos to give you guys an idea on what I keep shooting when I am not hunting for documentary stories.This shoot was for a designer friend Anand G couture. I have shot quite a few of his garments and very so often he has been kind enough to lend me his garments for my personal shoots when no one was ready to trust me in the beginning of my career. For me some of my clients almost become family and friends and their shoots go beyond money and commercial arrangements. BTS: Anandg wanted to revamp his collection and the look of it but we were on a budget. No fancy locations and sets for this one. I decided to shoot on his terrace and created a make shift studio. We got a huge 15-30 foot canvas cloth roughly painted in blue. For light, this is my favorite part, I asked my trusty lightman firoz to get me a huge diffuser cloth from the skimmers( large frames with diffuser cloth to cut and diffuse sunlight). We were shooting on a terrace with limited space and manpower so instead of putting a huge skimmer I just used the cloth and tied it on top. Voila! There we had the most beautiful and huge soft box. Harsh sunlight when diffused gives the softest light. Since the sides were open we got beautiful highlights through out the day and it kept shifting giving different light effects. I also used a diffuser on the sides when the sun was creeping in the morning. Kept using a reflector as an when needed to bounce some light on the face and clothes. I went a bit candid and raw on this shoot. Didn't care much about perfect composition or perfect background. I let a bit of light keep peeping in to create harsh spots in few places and I liked the contrast of it all. Of course Nimika killed it too, it's so important to have a good model too. Over all again Hussle and bustle wins the day.
