“The problem lay buried, unspoken, for many years in the minds of American women. It was a strange stirring, a sense of dissatisfaction, a yearning that women suffered in the middle of the twentieth century in the United States. Each suburban wife struggled with it alone. As she made the beds, shopped for groceries, matched slipcover material, ate peanut butter sandwiches with her children, lay beside her husband at night—she was afraid to ask even of herself the silent question—‘Is this all?’”

if there’s one thing that my mother has passed on to me, it’s a burning desire not to settle for anything less. she’s sacrificed so much and given up so many parts of herself to fulfill the role of an American housewife—but now she’s finally starting to take her own life back.
As i sat beside her,
And hugged her.
Tears rolled ,
As my heart broke,
Like rocks from hills.
As i fall behind,
the feelings which held back,
Fell from my eyes.
Heart being a mess,
Desperate with stress,
As my feelings oppress,
For her to progress.
My hand brush her hair,
As shivering of emotions pass,
I still oppress,
Emotions roll back inside me.
As my heart broke,
Like rocks from hills. (trying to be a good son)

An Ode To My Eye
They call you the least reliable/weak,
But they don't know how strong you are.
What all have you witnessed,
And had to deal during my stillness . (day)
Helping me push my emotions back in,
To look strong so that I can survive in. (night)
Helping me push my emotions all out,
To make me feel a little better with all poured out.

It was a season of abysmal paper cuts
That bled into fear,
Making you doubt yourself,
Forcing you to cower,
Until you began to believe them.
But trust me little one,
Karma comes
For all of those who cut you,
And when it does,
You will watch
Beautiful
From your heights,
And feel pity
For those armed with malice,
And wish them only peace.
