Tap for Spotted Gully Sharks are endemic to the southern African coast. They can be found in #kelp forests, on sandy and rocky bottoms from the shore to depths of 50m, and feed on crustaceans, cephalopods and small fishes. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE☀️ . SATURDAY NEWS UPDATE for this Sharky Week! . We have had such an awesome week! . 21st May Tuesday- we went on an Inshore Dive. Two tanks, Two dive sites. The one dive with the "Clowns of the Sea" our Cape Fur Seals and The other dive in The Magical Kelp Forest with all its wonder and several Shark Species! We had such a lovely group and the conditions were absolutely stunning! 10-15metre visability and 15 degrees celcius in temperature! Perfect Cape Town diving conditions! We were also spoilt with a breaching baby Humpback whale in the distance, on our return back to the harbour! Check out the video . 22nd May Wenesday - we did a Shark Cage Dive at Seal Island in False Bay! We were graced by the presence of at least 12 individual Prehistoric Seven Gill Sharks! Some big females have been popping up too!! This is such a unique and special experience to witness these ancient sharks in the most beautiful, safe and enjoyable conditions! The beauty about this excursion is that absolutely EVERYONE can do it! NO EXPERIENCE required and it's soooooooooo much fun! The added bonus is that you get to experience the Dinosaurs of the Ocean! Whilst they are still here at our Island. Conditions on the day were stunning, our group of clients had a multiple turns in the cage as well as some epic photographs from the boat. . 23rd May Thursday- we had another Cage diving trip with a nice big group of students with their Professors, and it was a fun filled day with Seven Gills, Sunshine, Excitement , Laughter and at the end.... Smiles for Miles! We had 6-8 individual Seven Gill Sharks that visited us, the visability had dropped slightly due to the small increase of swell in the bay, however that did not stop these Sharks from getting up close and personal with our guests. SUNDAY..... KILLER WHALES.... . excuse the pun... . Good Morning everyone . It was a moment of mixed feelings when we arrived at Seal Island in False Bay with greeting of the two Infamous Male Orcas- Port and Starboard. They are known as the suspects of shark killings along the coastline of S.A. . It was a magical moment to witness these incredible animals with our lovely group of guests on a boat... . a once in a lifetime experience I think for most that joined the trip... . However when we eventually put the boat on anchor to attract the Seven Gill Sharks that we have been seeing on a consistent basis for the last couple months, they were missing in action... . this we suspect could be the presence of these two Orcas.... . We hope that these Two Boys move along quickly, so that our sharks can return to the island soon... especially on the cusp of the Great White Hunting Season fast approaching... .
