Start by finding your neutral posture by standing tall and having your core switched on. Before you begin the spiral position think of screwing your foot into the floor to help your balance. Make sure you fully extend both your standing leg and free-leg with a strongly point toe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hold the spiral briefly them move to a tea pot by bringing the leg directly under the hip. Try to keep the free-leg straight as you switch positions and your heel on the ground at all times, making sure to turn out the free-leg at the bottom of the tea pot.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, return back to the spiral position in a slow and controlled movement. You can always do this movement holding a chair for a little extra support. In time you will be able to do it without the chair

Make sure you press into the ice on each step as far as you can go then stand up to change feet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Start by imagining you are jumping in a small circle, I always draw a circle on the ice with my magic marker, but you could stand on any of the hockey face off circles (make sure you’re not in the way of direct traffic on a busy session ). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Start with your feet hip width apart and gently swing the arms back and bend. Scope the arms forward and extend your legs to jump. Keep your head up and core strong throughout. This action is called a counter movement and greatly increases your jump height, this is very important for future jumps. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
To jump safely the key is to land with your hands forward and bottom sticking out. This will help keep your weight forward when landing.
