She turned to food and partying for comfort in her unhappiness. Stress ate sugar. Binge ate, secretly. Binge drank, not so secretly. Dabbled in a edm festival life that she out grew. Because drugs and dubstep ain’t all they’re cracked up to be.‍♀️ She lost her self respect, her confidence, she lost her self in the chaos. • • Now fast forward to girl on the right. She created a new relationship with food. Thank you, Whole 30. Who lost weight the healthy way. No quick tricks here ladies, sorry. She enjoys a mostly sober life and OKAY with it. White Claws, where you at?! • • She ditched an unhealthy relationship and friendships along with a toxic ass lifestyle that no longer served her. She learned new ways to handle stress and the anxiety. She found balance. She dove into fitness and yoga full force. And with an even greater force she tapped that self love, acceptance, self awareness, and accountability. And it saved her life. • I’m the healthiest and happiest I’ve ever been. All this rain has me dreaming of the last few days of summer we caught in Palawan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Since a lot of you have been asking me about my swimwear, I wanted to share my beach essentials this trip. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am such a fan of @aguabrazilianswimwear because of their multi-function swimsuits that can double as cute tops. Because multipurpose clothing doesn’t have to be boring. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I always need to have ice with my water and my @hydroflask bottle made it possible, no matter how hot it was on the beach. It was so convenient bringing it around, especially to places that didn’t have drinking water. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve had my @shopviajecito bucket bag for a while now and it’s roomy AND easy to clean. I lugged everything around in this, including our towels. One day I’m the happiest soul on earth, and the next I don’t feel like leaving my bed. And the more I allow myself to feel disappointed with myself, the more I do the things I later regret. You know the drill - binge eating, netflix, all of that fun stuff. ⠀⠀ That’s why after only reading the first chapter of Happiness Project by @gretchenrubin I instantly decided to put it into practice and design my own project for 2019 - I mean there is still time ⠀⠀ The gist is pretty simple. We take the things we know make people happy and we plan a year of happiness, where every month we focus on one area related to it - like energy, work, mindfulness, relationships and so on. We select a few resolutions around the theme we've chosen - and track them throughout the month for better success. Then we move on to the next thing ‍♀️ ⠀⠀ I will be documenting my process across all of my platforms for other likeminded people, who may be interested in taking the journey with me. Sometimes the only thing you can do is put your head down & get through it. . The month of July thoroughly kicked my butt. It was a relentless grind of endless, exhaustive work. I barely slept; I stressed a lot. I was completely maxed out. And when I would manage to carve out the tiniest slivers of "free time,” I just really wanted to spend them with my phone down & being as present as possible, not fussing with social media. . I’m proud of the work I’m doing. I’m proud of the effort and care and passion that’s filling my days. But I also miss sleep. I miss my regular workouts. And I miss connecting with everyone here.
