RE-CONNECTING WITH MY WHY✨⁣ ⁣ Last month I was noticing that I wasn’t posting because I had something to say or show but rather I was engaging on social media because I thought I had to do it versus wanting to do it. I felt the need to “keep up” or else there would be consequences i.e my follower count dropping. Sure I could easily put on a bikini, snap and post a booty shot, with some motivating caption but that’s not me. I stopped recording most of my workouts because it felt more like a burden to record the perfect set, to find the perfect angle and lighting. The joy of it all was slowly diminishing and that’s when I knew that I wasn’t on here for the right reasons. ⁣ ⁣ There’s a pressure to perform on the gram. Most of you that are on here to promote a business or gain a sponsorship are aware of this. There are some things that I’ve wanted to post in the past but because it wasn’t “gram worthy” I didn’t. ⁣ ⁣ But that changes now. I’m going to get back into the mindset I had when I first started my IG. If that’s posting every other day then that’s cool. If that’s every other week that works as well. If it’s a random selfie shot, or a shot of my food (which probably won’t get much engagement) that I feel like putting on my feed then I will. ⁣ ⁣ The point is I won’t be a slave to posting because I feel pressured to and you shouldn’t either. There isn’t a happy ending or a solution to the negative self talk we all fall prey to. The only thing that works for me is to be consistent. Be consistent with your programming, consistent with accountability, consistent with your routine and listen to your body.
