Ahimsa✨Ahimsa is one of the 5 yamas, the practice of non-violence in all aspects of life, from physical, mental and emotional; not just to others but also ourselves. This can be done through love and compassion, accepting things that happen as they are with an open heart, letting go of reacting in a negative way, being kind, respectful and loving your own body’s limitations. Through my daily yoga practice, I am able to access ahimsa by accepting, transforming and releasing my negative thoughts and emotions about myself and others. I’m still working on this everyday, as some days I am frustrated when I’m not as strong, flexible or even skip my practice. But I’m learning to embrace ahimsa - accepting my practice for what it is that day, and let go and walk away from any negative feelings, as with anything else that I’m faced with in life #luluyogagirl #ahimsa #yogastrong #nonviolence #lettinggo #acceptance #tuesday
I haven’t been very active with social media lately - & I just wanted to say I’m still here!!!! I’ve been so swamped and even struggled to fit in yoga. After 4 days without it, I finally made it to class this morning anddd I feel so so calm and refreshed ♀️ I’m ready to finish this week with a bang! .

Stretching out hamstrings is always necessary and forward folds like uttanasana are great for that. I’m finding it hard to progress as my lower back tends to round a lot in this asana.
Bending your knees is a way to help with a rounded back as it helps to target the appropriate muscles (rather than using flexibility to get you there!) ie. engaging pelvic floor to lengthen your body effectively✨

I’ve been working on my headstand practice! SO CLOSE!!! I’ve actually fallen over countless times and every single time it’s still a lot of fun! Practising yoga isn’t a serious thing and working out doesn’t have to be either. When something starts to feel like a chore or an effort, rather than a hobby or a way of life, then perhaps it’s not so good for you (everything in moderation!). It’s totally okay to step back a little bit and 100% okay if you’re not there yet too! This is a reminder to give yourself a little more self love for the little wins and a lot less self-criticism ✨ PS.
