The wine is aged for 18 months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks. We are inside Pieropan cellar in the heart of Soave. Stablished in 1880 by doctor and amateur winemaker Leonildo Pieropan, @pieropanwine is the oldest family-owned estate in Soave. Four generations marked the history of this winery. In fact, it has been run by the founder's grandson, Leonildo (better known as Nino) and his wife Teresita and their sons Dario and Andrea, until Leonildo sadly passed away last year. One fact I really like about their cellar is that each member of the family has a wood cask with its own name and year of birth. Also, the size, type of oak and level of toastiness is as unique as the personality of each member of the family, giving a unique touch to the Recioto di Soave that rests in the barrels! #drinkstories
