En el 2014 recibí una llamada del Museo del Banco Central de Reserva de Perú, me decían que por decisión unánime del jurado mi obra IQARO-canto de curación , había sido elegida Primer puesto en el concurso nacional de pintura. Recuerdo que no podía entrar en mi cuerpo de la felicidad, no se cuantas horas y días me la pase con la sonrisa estampada en el rostro. Agradezco profundamente a mi hija maravillosa y bendita, mi Tamia linda @tamia.heredia , ella fue la que me dijo en el taller, de madrugada, a sus 10 añitos, luego de meses y meses de trabajo. “Mami ya estás cansada porque no duermes, yo creo que deberías presentar esta pintura al concurso, es preciosa!!! Se refería a IQARO, mi pieza adorada, una obra que me generaba sentimientos encontrados porque integraba muchas técnicas , tecnológicas y tradicionales, era mi experimento, la primera pieza de luz planteada de esa manera y pensaba podían no darle el lugar formal de una pintura convencional en un concurso como ese. Mi niña insistió “ Maaaaa esa pintura va a ganar, es hermosa!”. Que bueno que la escuche !!! Comparto esta historia porque me hincha el corazón recordar a mi Tamia hermosa hablándome con tal certeza y comprobar que estaba en lo correcto con su increíble intuición. También dejar en manifiesto que este concurso y la exhibición que ahora está abierta al público, son para mi, una expresión sincera de esa diversidad que tenemos en el arte peruano, donde la creatividad escapa a las técnicas impuestas y las integra a la vez , replanteándolas. Donde todo es posible si hay verdad, oficio y alma detrás de la obra . Las piezas ganadoras de estos 10 años de concurso forman la colección contemporánea de el BCRP y están ahora expuestas en el MUCEN bajo la curaduría de Gabriela Germaná . Para mi es un honor compartir sala con tremendos artistas en “Diálogos con lo contemporáneo”.
