10 STEPS TO HIP THRUST LIKE A BADARSE - Because it’s NEVER a bad idea to go over the basics... here’s a few little tips, tricks & reminders to help you to get ya Hip Thrusts feeling super juicy for ya booty (and not your lower back). - 1️⃣ ROLL that bar right over ya hips & plz make sure it’s centred 2️⃣ SCOOCH your feet back into position... most of the time shooting for 90degree angle at knees (with hips extended) shoulder width, with a slight outward foot flare feels is bang on, but play around with what feels best for you. 3️⃣ WRIGGLE your shoulders on the bench to find your starting position. Ideally just underneath your shoulder blades will rest on the bench. 4️⃣ GRAB that bar with a double overhand grip for added stability... give it a little squeeze to let it know who’s boss. 5️⃣ SCREW your knees outward to create more hip rotational force... but keep your feet in the same position. You should feel your booty switch on through the isometric external rotation of the hip. Don’t forget this, it’s an overlooked game changer. 6️⃣ LOOK straight ahead, keeping your chin to your chest. This will prevent you flaring your ribs and prevent you over extending your hips. 7️⃣ BRACE your core & breathe in nice and deep like into ya belly. Think about creating tension in your midsection while keeping your ribs down. 8️⃣ THRUST that bad boy up to the sky... BUT not as high as you can! Get your hips to lockout... then stop, no need to go any further m8. Also make note of where I’m hinging from in the video. Most of the movement comes from below my ribs, rather than pivoting from my shoulders. 9️⃣ TUCK your hips underneath at the top of the rep. This is what’s called creating a Posterior Pelvic Tilt. It’ll help your better engage your Glutes & prevent you arching, overextending & hurting ha back.
