Why choosing and knowing the astrology house system you are using is so important! // During astrology readings many clients comment how different my version of their chart looks from what they have looked up online. There are two major reasons for this: 1) I display between 8-10 asteroids, dwarf planets, and other planetary bodies so there are more aspects visually to take in 2) I use a less popular house system called Campanus (first introduced to me around 6 years ago when I studied with the stunning @jessica_lanyadoo ), even though I am a slow learner and didn't appreciate it until several years later. — Many astrologers and online programs use Koch, Whole Sign, or Placidus. And for the first several years I was exploring astrology I used Placidus, until 3 years ago when I realized Campanus was the one that made my heart sing. As a space-oriented system, Campanus divides the houses into twelve equal segments that lines up with "prime vertical" that runs east to west and intersects the horizon. Spatially to me this house system orients the chart more than any other because it aligns the house cusps across the ecliptic as an important marker for how the sun moves across the sky. Ahem, the origins of the zodiac.;) — I recently found this old page of notes from my class with Jessica and it revived my love for the importance of houses in our understanding of the chart, but also how to utilize them in a way that adds to the expansive vision of our chart versus getting attached to one particular house and identity. These incredible young men and women shared their leadership stories from their experiences this year.
