Where have I been? I’ve been a little busy with this early surprise Harry decided to grace us with his presence 4 weeks early and we could not be more in love! I had no maternity plans ready because my plan was to work until the end of the school year since I wasn’t due until June 30th, but Harry came with 2 weeks left of school to go and report cards due Thankfully it all worked out and my sub was able to manage my class during their last days of the year I’m so excited to get to enjoy this snuggle baby all summer long ☀️

I love how the Message translation says Matthew 4:4 like this: "It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth." This is so true. Our spiritual nourishment is everything. It is our foundation. When the spirit man is strong, that strength spills over into all the other areas of our life. I really like how it says STEADY STREAM. You can't survive off eating once a week. In the same way, your spiritual life will be a mess if you feed yourself spiritually once a week. So be intentional about giving yourself a steady stream of God's Word.

Relationships are everything! When your students trust you and like you, it goes a long way. I'm that teacher that will give my students "the look" in a quick second (and they know they have 2.5 seconds to get it together) but I'll also bust out in a freestyle contest with them. Have fun teaching and enjoy life. Life is definitely too short to take yourself too seriously.

Summer break is the perfect time to do some self reflection on your school year in order to figure out what you can do to improve next year. So take the time to self reflect, and also to plan action steps that you will take next school year in order to grow in your areas of weakness.
