51/2019: Today in an "ayiram butta"(1000 buttas ) in kanchi silk cotton for #kanchisilkaurcottonkimilan for Renuka akka @6yardsof_art #kanchisilkaurcottonkimilan . My saree is by Lakshmi from @kalpavastram and jhumkaas from a local store in Darjeeling. I have paired it with a beige raw silk blouse as I am draping it in the daytime just to neutralize the purple blue shade of the saree. It can also be draped with a deeper shade blouse when going for an evening out and it would look glam! . This is the only kanchi silk cotton I have but over the years am surely gonna add more to my collection as it's more affordable compared to pure kanchipuram silks and looks equally grand. Most importantly, it can be draped in summers for both daytime as well as evening functions. Today I have draped mine for a lunch and movie date with hubby. . I enjoyed seeing the beautiful posts by all the saree sakhis and got inspired and tempted by the silk cotton beauties. My Amma (MIL) has a huge collection of these sarees, being a tam bram. I have seen her draped many times in bright colours with contrast zari combination, and now I get it... it's her love for Kanchi silk cottons.
