How safe is it to travel in Tanzania? Tanzania is a safe country to travel in. Tanzanians are warm-hearted and generous people and are eager to help and assist visitors. As in all countries, a little common sense goes a long way and reasonable precautions should still be taken, such as locking valuables in the hotel safe, do not carry a lot of camera equipment especially in the major cities, do not wear too much jewellery, do not carry large amounts of cash on your person etc. Guides will monitor your safety in cities and in the game areas. From time to time generalized travel statements are issued concerning travel conditions in the area. . #tanzania #africa #hakunamatata #serengeti #lakemanyara #tarangire #ngorongoro #nature #wild #wildlifesafari #wildlife #wildanimal #wildlifeanimal #bucketlist #eastafrica #kilimanjaro #mtkilimanjaro #arusha #mtmeru #maasai #jambo #chettah

Elephant facts 1) There are three different species of elephant – the African Savannah elephant, the African Forest elephant and the Asian elephant. Elephants are known for their large ears, tusks made of ivory and their trunks – which are actually a fusion of their nose and upper lip. 2) Elephants are the world’s largest land animal! Male African elephants can reach 3m tall and weigh between 4,000 -7,500kg. Asian elephants are slightly smaller, reaching 2.7m tall and weighing 3,000– 6,000kg. They are known for their large ears, tusks made of ivory and their trunks – which are actually a fusion of their nose and upper lip. 3) There’s an easy way to tell the African elephants apart from their Asian cousins – their ears! African elephants have large ears shaped like the continent of Africa! Asian elephants’ ears are smaller and shaped like India. Cool, huh? 4) You can tell a lot about an elephant by looking at their tusks! Elephant tusks never stop growing, so enormous tusks can be a sign of an old elephant. Both male and female African elephants grow tusks, but only male Asian elephants grow them. A tusk-less adult elephant is likely to be a female Asian elephant. 5) Until recently, African Forest elephants were thought to be a subspecies of the African elephant, but new research discovered that they are actually a separate species entirely. These elephants live in the tropical forests of Africa’s Congo Basin. They have straighter tusks and more rounded ears than Savannah elephants. #safari #wildebeest #wild #wildsafari #wildlifesafari #wildanimal #zebra #africa #tanzania #lakemanyara #ngorongoro #tarangire #serengeti #bucketlist

How many colors does the lilac breasted roller have? The lilac-breasted roller could have just as easily been called the “rainbow roller.” They have around 8 colors; green, white, black, yellow, turquoise, dark blue, reddish brown, and of course lilac. That is one colorful bird! How did the lilac breasted roller get its name? Rollers, in general, owe their common name to their mating display, which consists of a lot of dives and swoops accompanied by loud and harsh cries. During a mating flight, a lilac-breasted roller will fly upwards for about ten meters (33 feet) and then swoop down with wings closed . #safari #wildebeest #wild #wildsafari #wildlifesafari #wildanimal #zebra #africa #tanzania #lakemanyara #ngorongoro #tarangire #serengeti #bucketlist #lilacbreastedroller #birds #lion #simba #ndege #hakunamatata #wildlifesafari
