Let mom get more rest with this position after a cesarean (or great if you have a blocked duct too). This is not safe if you are not following the Safe Sleep 7 guidelines. This position is fine for daytime with your partner watching but not for bedsharing. Safe bedsharing can be an absolute game changer for breastfeeding moms. You feed all night and feel more rested as you’ve been dream feeding all night instead of getting up, getting pillows and getting more exhausted. I recommend reading Sweet Sleep - La Leche League and Dr James McKenna’s research (some great articles on his website if you search for infant sleep expert). Practice safe bedsharing during the day so it’s easy at night foe the first few times.
