Organizing tip . What are your feelings on labels? Yes!!! Or No way!!! I’m a mixed if it’s a clear container and I can clearly see what’s inside say OREOS I won’t label but if I’m putting flour next to the powdered sugar you bet I’m slapping on a label!! And before you ask about cooking directions for the pancake mix just cut it out and tape to the back. . I feel it takes minutes to put my food in containers and hours if I’m searching for a bag of rice under the flour bag behind the cereal in the corner of lowest shelf. Just saying . . . Living with less waste is very firmly linked to the buying of less stuff. The less we buy, the less resources we use, the less packaging we invite into our homes, the less storage we need (don't forget, storage is stuff), and the less we end up recycling or landfilling down the track. But not buying stuff, well... that can be a challenge! Stuff can be so tempting... Do you have a ‘Self-care’ account? I don’t buy things very often but when I finally do, it really has to be worth it. - When I started my capsule wardrobe method 9 years ago, I also created a ‘Self-care’ account. - This meant that when I was tempted to buy something (I didn’t actually need), I would take the same amount of money and add to my ‘Self-care’ account. - So instead of buying a new item, I would reward myself by saving up for a special treat. - You can use the money in your ‘Self-care” account for anything you like but I normally use it for a pedicure, a massage, a family day out or travelling. - This has really been helpful and worked a treat for me, so I really hope this can work for you too. - I’m curious what you think of this idea and what you would buy?
