Confession: I am the world’s worse digital nomad ⁣ ⁣ It’s coming up on one year since I quit my job to travel and write full-time and I have some big decisions to make. ⁣ ⁣ It looks glamorous from afar, but the truth is:⁣ ⁣ 1) I never stop working. Ever. Even when I’m on “vacation,” I feel guilty if I’m not writing notes or taking photos for future blog posts. ⁣ ⁣ 2) Dating is even harder now. Men like the fact that there’s an end date in sight, and I’ve isolated myself because I don’t like to feel devalued. I’m a prize dammit! ⁣ ⁣ 3) I miss having a routine. I miss weekly trivia nights and going to happy hours and celebrating milestones with friends. ⁣ ⁣ 4) I miss the sense of purpose that came with being a lawyer. I liked being important ⁣ ⁣ 5) It seems like a small thing, but when you live out of a suitcase your clothes are always wrinkled. And you’re lucky if they’re clean ⁣ ⁣ So now I’m at a fork in the road. And the problem is, I have no idea what I want. ⁣ ⁣ I think the first step is establishing a home base. As a Capricorn, I like stability too much to be transient.⁣ ⁣ I have the opportunity to come back to Puerto Rico and live here for a year, but honestly I’m terrified. ⁣ ⁣ Is it taking a step backwards? Will it feel too small for me? Will I fit in? Can I still travel from here? Am I getting too old to be this ambiguous about life? ⁣ ⁣ People tell me that my life looks perfect, but in fact I’ve just been stumbling through, crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. ⁣ ⁣ What do you think? Since most of my photos are from behind or afar focused on beauties of the nature, I figured it’s not a big deal lowering the quality of my feed with my messy face from time to time .
