A co-worker came up to me at work one day in 2004, and asked me if I wanted to go see #VelvetRevolver in concert. So, of course, I asked, "Who's that?" When I found out, I felt really stupid. How three members of #GunsNRoses formed this band with the lead singer of #StoneTemplePilots without me knowing about it is still a huge mystery. When @lynzpoole told me who they were, I immediately ran down and bought this CD at disc no. 1051 in #mycdcollection . And yes, I went to the show too! There isn't much I can say to describe the first Velvet Revolver album beyond "freaking amazing!" #Contraband isn't a #GNR album with #ScottWeiland on vocals. And it's most definitely not a STP record. Rather, it's a perfect hybrid of both with stellar production quality, killer song-writing and smokin' guitar work. Unfortunately, this kick-ass supergroup didn't last very long. But at least I got to see them on both tours before they disbanded due to Welland's drug issues. I would've liked to see #SebastianBach pick up the mantle in Scott's absence, but the GNR boys didn't think it would be a good fit. All that aside, the debut release from this monster five-piece is all killer no filler from start to finish.
