Happy Saturday! Have you been out? We went to the sea to eat fish and chips with a view . Today, I am taking you through my empties, I have been saving these for quite some time, so here is my voting system: . LOVE ☺️ Nice, not necessarily for me. . For this post, all products are good, but some work better for my skin than others. I will kick off with the products in the 1st pic: . @dermalogicauk Dynamic Skin Recovery Broad Spectrum SPF 50* - my fav SPF to date. Beautiful formula, for colder months layers really well with other products, fabulous under makeup, no breakouts, nor irritation, contains many antioxidants and anti-ageing ingredients. Absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend. . ☺️ @jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Serum* - a very hydrating serum, watery-like texture, made of botanical ingredients to lift and firm the skin. I would say it gives luminosity and it’s definitely a skin replenisher. Can pill at times, this can be avoided when layered with a moisturiser only. . ☺️ @alumiermduk Brightening Eye Cream* - a medical grade eye cream that contains stellar ingredients such as Matrixyl Synthe’ 6 (a superstar ingredient for my face, brilliant for elasticity), mushroom extract and peptides. It’s a nourishing product, that gives a beautiful radiance on the eye area, however, I feel this works better for those whom suffer with dark circles (I used this exclusively for 2.5 months), my eye area looked nice, but I have tried other eye creams performed slightly better for me. I do know people that suffer with dark circles and were very impressed with this eye cream. . @mgc.derma.skincare CBD Active Firming Clay Mask*, a fantastic clay mask, unlike any others I have tried, leaves my skin very luminous and nourished, however this is very pricey, and not something I could easily replace (the only con). We all have 1 or 100 different influencers that we follow on social media sites like Instagram or YouTube. Their Instagram feed is aesthetically pleasing with pictures of their outfit of the day to pictures of them vacationing in Bali with their families and other influencers. Their Instagram Stories & YouTube videos are often tutorials for hair & makeup, reviews of products, shopping hauls, glimpses of their daily lives. A lot of times we are shown their morning and night skincare routines. They are promoting products that are currently working for THEIR skin. We see someone w beautiful, glowing skin and we think we NEED the products they’re promoting to get skin just like them. That’s not the case, skincare is not one-size-fits-all. Just because something is working for your favorite influencer does NOT mean it’s going to work for you. But don’t let that discourage you, because there are products designed SPECIFICALLY for your skin type, addressing your skin concerns. Seeing an esthetician is extremely beneficial because we will thoroughly analyze your skin and educate you on your skin type & exactly what your skin needs to target your concerns & achieve your skin goals. Estheticians have a surplus of knowledge when it comes to not only products, but ingredients as well. We have access to the best products on the market, that are made with best ingredients in the world. So next time you see your favorite influencer post about a product that you think might work for you, send your esthetician a message asking about it! I know I personally love when people reach out to me for an “ingredient check” or my opinion on products! Book a facial with your esthetician so you can learn more about your skin and its needs!

Differin is a retinoid most used for acne and can be combined with benzoyl peroxide in one treatment product. Differin (0.1 % adapalene) was never a perfect match for me for the use on my face. I managed to find a regimen where I managed to use it 3 nights over the course of 7 days. So kind of 3 times a week but with 2 nights off in between. But I was always at risk of some irritation in my orbital area even tho I did not apply the product there. It also did not inprove my acne as much as I wanted leaving me to look for complimentary products which made it even more tricky to find a way to use them without risk for irritation. . . When I decided to change to Tretinoin I was scared it would be even worse but OMG, it made all the difference! No irritation (except for some light initial peeling). Reduced acne and pores and gave a glow. Improved the texture of my skin. Consult your medical professional since retinoids are potent and can give rise to reactions! . . I started at 0.025% and currently use 0.05% and I actually plan to go back to 0.025% cus my skin is in good shape and I liked the consistency of Retirides 0.025% much better than the matte finish of the Airol pictured (hard to spread so I dilute it with a serum). . . But I also have a little bacne and on my back I love to use Differin there. When I consistent (which I must admit I am not always) I see an improvement and the skin on my back is far less sensitive thsn my face and doesn’t have any trouble with Differin and the large tube make it good for use on larger areas. I can notice some dryness but nothing particularly bothersome. . . I also like to use OTC Retinol around my eyes to get the benefits of Vitamin A but respecting the delicate area and lowering the risk of irritation. Taking a slow route there ☺️ . . Do you use different retinoids on different parts of your body? Any general preferences? . . . . . . . #skincarelovers #acne #acneproblems #acnetreatment #retinoids #differin #adapalene #tretinoin #retinol #bacne #clearskin #healthyskincare #skinscience #evidencebased #medicalskincare #medicalgradeskincare #exfoliation #hudvård #skönhet #skönhetsblogg #skönhetsbloggare

Also known as vitamin B3 & nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly improve the appearance of enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines & wrinkles, dullness, & a weakened surface. . . Niacinamide increases the production of ceramides (an essential component of your lipid barrier), keeping the skin strong & preventing Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL). . . Over time & w/ a daily application of a Niacinamide formulation, improvements in skin structure will reduce redness, blotchiness & sensitivity brought about by exposure to the environment due to a poorly functioning barrier. . . When your skin retains its natural moisture with a well-functioning lipid barrier, the natural oil flow of the skin becomes controlled. . . Niacinamide protects the skin from the infrared heat of the sun. Along with the damaging effects of UV exposure, infrared activates free radicals & stimulates an overproduction of pigmented cells, and if your pigmentation is hormonal, heat is a big problem. Niacinamide protects the skin from heat. . . If your skin has become susceptible to hyperpigmentation, then Niacinamide will assist in the reduction of uneven pigmentation by slowing down the transfer of melanin to your skin’s epidermis. . . Niacinamide boosts collagen production. Along with the improvement of the skin’s lipid barrier comes an increase in cell differentiation which contributes to better synthesis & formation of collagen and elastin. . . While many antioxidants prevent damage caused by oxidative stress & AGE’s, Niacinamide goes one step further and reverses the visible signs brought about by the onslaught. Niacinamide as an antioxidant reduces the negative impact of oxidative stress & improves the skin’s ability to fight back. . . #aesthetician #masteresthetician #skincare #medspa #medispa #medicalspa #esthetician #hyperpigmentation #aesthetician #skincareblogger #beauty #skincareroutine #redmondwa #skin #sammamish #issaquah #bellevuewa #facial #seattlewa #seattleblogger #rosacea #dermatology #cosmeticsurgery #plasticsurgery #nurseinjector #themasteresthetician #niacinamide #medicalgradeskincare
