My husband and I have been through some shit in our 13 1/2 years of marriage but never anything like this. Through all of this we remain a team and have united in ways I didn’t know existed. Last night I asked him if we’ll still laugh, take baths and talk as much as we do here and he said “yes.” When I married him at 18 years old, I meant the words I said for life. Through thick and thin (I’m currently thick) in good times and the bad (there’s been mostly bad these past 22 months) and here we are so close to the finish line I can almost see our future. Sitting on the back porch, on our new patio furniture, over looking the Pacific Ocean, drinking a beer and telling each other “we made it”. This lifestyle isn’t an easy one but I’d do it a billion times over to be doing it right along side him.

it’s a little before 7 am here and i’ve finally had some time to sit here in quiet this morning and really process the past 24 hours. first I want to thank everyone again for all the love and support. not just yesterday, but everyday over the past nine months. this was hard on our whole family, and it’s just one of those things where you don’t really get it until you’re going through it. but we made it, & if it’s not obvious, we’re all over the moon to finally have this guy home with us. the feelings from yesterday I can’t even begin to explain, but they’re worth every single second of the wait. even if another deployment wasn’t already inevitable, I would still do it all over in a heart beat just to relive this moment over and over again. so if you need me, i’ll be over here on my post-deployment feels high getting busy making up some for lost time also- need to give the BIGGEST of thank yous once again to @cantucaptureyouphotography ... she came along with me + my crew & as usual, captured every moment so perfectly. this woman is the sweetest soul & I want to keep her forever! ❤️
