#respectmyhair . . I’m halfway through the #100daysproject and I feel all the emotions. I’ve been challenging myself to wear my hair in it’s naturally curly-kinky state for 100 days straight. You can follow that journey specifically on @100daysofcurls (full disclosure I’m v behind on posting and have one photo up). . . The sheer amount of insensitive remarks, inappropriate questions, and microaggressions directed at me when I wear my fro is ridiculous so I need to reiterate: Respect my hair. Respect our hair. ‍‍‍✊✊✊ . . Product deets: My hair is very damp here. It expands 3x the volume and size when it’s fully dry. AKA big ass hair. This is after using @olaplex No. 3, @sheamoisture shampoo + deep conditioner, detangling with a wide-tooth comb in the shower, and the LOC method with a leave-in from @sheamoisture, jojoba oil, and @cantubeauty’s curling creme. Still working on getting these bangs to have more definition and less frizz—it could be a different curl pattern in that area, but most likely heat damage from years of straightening with a flat iron. Twist outs will likely help with that, though since they take so much more time, I’m still trying to perfect the wash n go for now. I gave myself a dry cut last month, ended up removing 2-3 inches all around and that seemed to improve my overall curl pattern somewhat....but I’m missing the length real bad!

It was 5 weeks ago when I crossed that stage at the Amateur Olympia in Las Vegas. I trained myself and I ended up with 3rd Place in my bikini class in my first ever international show. . But I tell you this, there were so many moments during my training where I was wishing I had a coach. Yes I’m capable of training myself and I know exactly what I’m doing, but it’s so much harder trying to do it yourself. . Next time I compete, I’ll hire a coach who cares about helping me achieve my goals and has the knowledge to create a program to help me get there. That way all I have to do is follow their blueprint. Plus I’ll have someone there to hold me accountable. . I think that’s why I have so many successful clients in my program. I don’t just sell them a plan and send them on their way. I get a clear understanding of their goals and then build them a blueprint to help them take their body to the next level. I’m there for them every step of the way. All they have to do is follow the customized plan I create. I also check in with them constantly, to not only make sure they’re on track, but to remind them of why they’re doing it. .
