Flock Of Birds ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ The magical experience of seeing hundreds of migratory Siberian seagulls hover around you.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ STORY Time- A couple of weeks ago before my visit to India, I got to know about this beautiful experience from some of my Instagram friends. Having seen photos, I was determined to experience this in person. One can experience this on the banks of Yamuna river in Old Delhi from November to March when thousands of Seagulls migrate to Delhi to escape harsh winter of Siberia. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ REALITY - When I visited the banks of Yamuna, I was shocked to see the pollution all around. The river is filthy black in color that one wouldn't even want to touch the water. I was even apprehensive about taking the boat ride as everything felt SO DIRTY! I had no idea how polluted this part of Delhi was. Nevertheless, we took the ride & in between I happened to mention to the rower, Ganesh, that "Yamuna river is so dirty"! To that he replied, "Yamuna maaiya gandi nahi hain.. humara dil ganda hain" [Mother Yamuna (river) is not filthy, human thoughts & intensions are dirty]! To be true, I was speechless just to realize how humans find faith even in the adversityWhen Ganesh took us to the center of the river & started throwing grains in the air, hundreds of Seagulls came rushing for the food! It was an out of the world experience to be in the centre of the river and watch the flock of birds flying above our boat. A speechless moment! I was transcended to a dreamy world, far far from reality even if it lasted for few minutes!
