[Ratings in the comments.] Foodie.t.nam explores a new dish. Have a look at this glorious dry pot with spicy and numbing chicken. What's displayed: Copper Pot w/ Chicken 35€ First things first, I seriously don't know any spot here and Berlin that serves this kind of dry hot pot dish, maybe @they_do_food_right knows more about it, but for now this dish is exclusive to Meet You, which can be ordered any time of the day. It's not part of the Brunch menu. I would dare say, that this thing is something more on the expensive side, at least when you compare it to the amount of food, you can get when you stick to their brunch items. Under my assumption one tower will fill up two normal persons. It's up to you wether you choose, shrimp, frog legs or chicken with bone or boneless. Since frog legs tasted pretty much like chicken and shrimp was a no go for my friend, we were left with chicken. They use solely chicken thigh, so we pretty much only have dark meat with a little bit of bone. The taste is really interesting for people, who never had Sichuan food. It's a rather spicy dish thanks to the huge amount of dried chilli's. But the most interesting part about this are the Chinese peppercorn. Instead of a hot or pungent flavour, which is characteristic for peppers, you can expect a one of a kind experience. You will feel a numbing, tingling, buzzing feeling or simply everything at once. I particular enjoy this experience a lot, hence I also like to eat Mapo Tofu, which shares similarities as this dish. The more you eat, the more peppercorn you crush in your mouth, the stronger this type of feeling. Beside the chicken, we also have a lot of veggies such as potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, sprouts and chewy rice cakes. Veggies weren't overcooked even until the end, they retained there crunch and weren't too soft. It might takes a little bit of effort to eat the sprouts underneath, because they are sitting in a warm pool of chilli oil. For us at least, we didn't dare to touch those things right there, since they were too greasy for us. In the middle of the copper tower, we have a big chunk of ignited charcoal briquettes, which solely purpose is to hold this dish warm.

Our bodies have come up with so many ways to survive in this world. & numbing is one of them. We check out, leave our bodies, dissociate, cover over difficult emotions with coping. Maybe it’s drinking, spending, watching TV, but also maybe it’s exercise, meal planning, and budgeting (things that are perceived as “good” but can also be used to avoid processing). This quick question for ourselves draws attention to when this might be happening. Ask yourselves. And. Just. Notice. That. Not forming any judgement, just gathering information. “Huh, what good information that when things are stressful at work/with my lover/when I’m triggered I do this”. And as always, honor the ways your body has learned to cope. And be curious about your other options or intentions. Indulgence is beautiful and healing. Let yourself and/or let yourself really enjoy it.

Mind- and butt-numbing. Two episodes on Netflix, three podcasts, Spotify, plus a banana, a grilled cheese sandwich (delivered warm to my bike ), some chocolate, two water bottles and two sets of headphones. And I was bored out of my mind. Be Here Now♥️ “Your life requires your mindful presence in order to live it. Be here now.” ― Akiroq Brost There’s been many days this past year I haven’t been present. Wanting to numb pain which also numbed joy. And honestly... until you are ready to deal with it, numbing can be a useful coping mechanism (as long as you know you are doing it) I turn 39 today. I’m in a place where I’m ready to feel, ready to take it all... the joy and the pain. My gift to myself this year is more presence, with myself and with those I encounter. More mindful moments, moments I take in my own breath and realize what a gift it is... ♥️ Gratitude and a Thankful heart for the 39 years I’ve been blessed to live, love, and learn on this beautiful planet.

Cocaine, also known as coke, is a very powerful and highly addictive stimulant . It is most commonly used and abused as a recreational drug. It can be snorted, smoked, or injected. Cocaine affects the reward pathway , leading to short-lasting euphoria and increased alertness . However, excessive cocaine use can lead to fast heart rate, hallucinations, hyperthermia, arrhythmias, and even cardiac death ☠️. Repeated use of cocaine also leads to addiction since the body's reward system becomes desensitised towards the drug. Interestingly, cocaine is sometimes used as a topical numbing agent for nasal and lacrimal duct surgery, though it has been largely replaced by safer alternatives. Maybe the most vulnerable post to date but hey- here’s to healing. Some days, the voices get too loud. The reality you are in seems like some alternate universe. Surely you were transported here by Walternate. You’re on day two of no food only to find a bite of salad makes you sick. You’re chugging water and coffee to stay awake and somewhat healthy. You’re smiling at your coworkers and hugging contractors at job sites. You’re checking your mail to remain normal and breaking down in the lobby when you bump into a friend. You’re making dinner for kids and letting them splash in the bath while you breakdown in the living room without them seeing. Then putting on a warm face for story time. You’re picking up the pieces. Piece. By. Piece. You can hear “I told you so”. And “typical”. And “of course”. You wonder if this is what you deserved all along. You can feel your heart beat sinking lower into your gut. Your legs are like bricks. Your arms start to go numb and you weigh your options: let it take you. The numb. The loss. The self hate and self loathing. Or: feel the feelings and remember it’ll be ok. Soon. In a hour, day, week, month. It’ll be ok. Lean on friends. Pick up the phone when your brother calls to talk. Make reminder notes around your house. Find a project. Make some lists. And maybe pencil in a meltdown or two. And workout. Workout hard. I’m trying to shed my habit of option 1. The habit that involves numbing the good with the bad. I’m committing to option 2. For what do we say to the god of death? Not Today.
