કારેલીબાગ પાણીની ટાંકી પાસે પાણીની લાઈનનો વાલ્વ બેસી જતા હજારો લીટર પાણી વેડફાયું વડોદરામાં હાલ પાણીની રામાયણ ચાલી રહી છે અને ખાસ તો પૂર્વ અને દક્ષિણ વિસ્તારમાં લોકોને પૂરતા પ્રેશરથી પાણી પણ મળતું નથી. ક્યારે પાણીની લાઈનના લિકેજને કારણે અને વાલો બેસી જવાના લીધે હજારો લિટર પાણીનો વેડફાટ થાય છે અને પાણી ગટરમાં નકામાં વહી જાય છે. કારેલીબાગ પાણીની ટાંકીની સામે જ 18 ઇંચની લાઈનો પાણીનો વાલ્વ બેસી ગયો હતો. જેથી, રીપેરીંગ માટે પંપ મૂકીને સૌ પહેલા સવારથી પાણી ઉલેચવાનું શરૂ કરાયું હતું બપોરે એક વાગ્યા સુધી એટલે કે ચાર કલાકથી પંપ ચાલુ રહેતા હજારો લીટર પાણી ઉલેચીને ગટરમાં વહેવડાવી દીધું હતું. પંપ સતત ચાલુ રહેવાના કારણે વગર વરસાદે રોડ પર જળબંબાકારના દ્રશ્યો જોવામળ્યા હતા લાઈન ખાલી થયા બાદ રીપેરીંગ ચાલુ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આટલું મોટું લીકેજ વાલના કારણે હોવા છતાં ચાર કલાકથી કોર્પોરેશનના કોઈ અધિકારી કે એન્જિનિયર સ્થળ પર જોવા મળ્યા ન હતા. હજી ગયા અઠવાડિયે જ સરદાર એસ્ટેટ પાસે આજવાની લાઇન પર વાલ બેસી જવાના કારણે પૂર્વ અને દક્ષિણ વિસ્તારમાં પાણીનો કકળાટ થયો હતો. મેઘમહેર / વડોદરા શહેર અને જિલ્લામાં રાત્રે એકથી બે ઇંચ સુધી વરસાદ વરસ્યો, એક વૃક્ષ ધરાશાયી વડોદરા શહેર અને જિલ્લામાં રાત્રી દરમિયાન એકથી બે ઇંચ જેટલો વરસાદ વરસ્યો હતો. જેમાં વડોદરામાં 25 મિ.મી., ડભોઇમાં 42 મિ.મી., કરજણમાં 38 મિ.મી., શિનોરમાં 37 મિ.મી., પાદરામાં 14 મિ.મી., સાવલીમાં 8 મિ.મી., ડેસરમાં 7 મિ.મી., વાઘોડિયામાં 5 મિ.મી., વરસાદ નોંધાયો હતો. વડોદરા શહેરમાં એક સ્થળે વૃક્ષ ધરાશાયી થયું હતું અને વડોદરા શહેરને પાણી પુરૂ પાડતા આજવા સરોવારમાં આજે સવારે આઠ વાગ્યે 209 ફૂટ સપાટી નોંધાઇ હતી.
