HEALTHY LOOKS DIFFERENT ON EVERY BODY ⠀
⠀
You and I could literally eat the exact same meal plan and follow the exact same movement plan, and live the exact same lives... and our bodies would always be different. ⠀
⠀
Just because our bodies are different sizes, does not mean that one of us is “better” or “worse” than the other. ⠀
⠀
Bigger does not necessarily mean UNFIT.⠀
Smaller does not necessarily mean FITTEST. ⠀
⠀
HEALTHY LOOKS DIFFERENT ON EVERY BODY. ⠀
⠀
There is a standard image of “fitness” out there, and I want to open up that avatar to be inclusive of varying, different, incredible bodies of all different sizes. ⠀
⠀
Because bodies don’t need to check specific boxes in order to be “fit”. ⠀
⠀
BECAUSE HEALTHY LOOKS DIFFERENT ON EVERY BODY. ⠀
⠀
There’s no sense comparing myself to anyone else, in any way. Because we all have our own strengths and abilities that need no comparison. ⠀
⠀
And that, my friend, is liberating.⠀
⠀
Eat well.⠀
Move your body.⠀
And practice kindness to yourself and others. ⠀

PLANT WALL ➡️ with all the time we spent indoors this winter, I started to really think about (read: worry) our indoor air quality. We do a ton to prevent adding to its poor quality ourselves (natural cleaning & personal care products, no VOC paint etc) but the truth is, there is still so much to think about. Off gassing from treated floors, flame retardants on furniture and electronics... I could go on and on, but I won't, because that's scary and pointless! Instead of focusing on how much in my immediate environment is trying to kill us (which was a bit challenging, because we all had some health challenges arise - mine being the worst), I started thinking about what to ADD IN , to help reduce the toxic burden in our home! ☠️☠️☠️ Directly inspired by @wellnessmama with tips from @realeverythingblog, we built this beautiful plant wall! Plants do just as good a job, or better, purifying our air as $$$ indoor air purifiers, and don't use electricity or eventually break down and need to be taken to the dump (gah, e-waste!) Not to mention, holy gorgeous Batman. We chose snake plant, a fern and English ivy (I think - the hubs is the gardener ), simple wood, pretty brackets from amazon, dollar store pots and leftover paint. The entire project cost around $120, and makes us smile every time we look at it! ☺️☺️☺️ I'D LOVE TO KNOW ANY TRICKS YOU HAVE FOR CREATING A HEALTHY HOME! SHARE IN THE COMMENTS BELOW! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ PS. Huge thanks to my partner-in-crime @jbtnd for creating this living breathing art installation! It was my idea but he did of the work!
please allow me to reintroduce myself.
hey, I’m Ash owner and founder of mamaste village.
I am mama to this fiercely wild, big personality’d, sweet as can be little boy named Henry, & wife to a babely and hilarious man named Ryan.
mamaste village was born in my postpartum experience. I struggled very early on with PPA and PPD and felt lost in my motherhood journey. I was craving a place where I could go, meet other mamas and do something for myself, but all I could find were programs geared towards babies.
my vision for mamaste village is to be a hub for mamas, pre and postnatal, giving them all of the tools and support needed to feel set up for motherhood.
we currently offer prenatal yoga, mama & babe yoga and a first year mom group called the village.
in the fall we will be adding; baby led sleep and well being coaching, mama & movers yoga and family yoga.
I’m busy making connections with chiropractors, RMTs, nutritionists, pelvic floor specialists and other mama focused fitness professionals to be able to create a space for mamas with everything they need throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
our summer prenatal and mama & babe series start in July, DM me for more information!
We get so many messages asking “how much filler will it take to augment my *____* area?” So we decided to make a little chart. ⠀
