Alright... I wanna talk about the word “kinnie”. Feel free to leave your opinion in the comments if you would like, just keep it friendly. Lately, this word has been circulating (primarily on Tumblr) and there seems to be some sort of controversy surrounding the word. The word was originally used by the various anti-kin communities on Tumblr as a negative and belittling term to describe or put down anyone within the Otherkin and Therian communities that they find “cringeworthy”. It is not supposed to be a good term. It’s not supposed to be a cute term. Some Therians and Otherkin seem to want to reclaim this term and use it to describe themselves or others in the community. Personally, I CANT STAND the word. It’s just SOUNDS belittling! It makes the community look like some child’s game that little kids play on the playground. This type of image is a MAJOR problem and can very easily lead to more misinformation being spread. Due to the history of the word, I am lead to not trust people who use it. To me, people who use the word look like trolls and are more likely to be blocked. (No hard feelings, it’s just my way of seeing it). Obviously, I can’t stop anyone from using the term to talk about themselves, but please do NOT talk about me or this pack while using the word.
