This was a model I kind of rushed into out of not having planned out my next project. I had quite a few plague marines of which I'd never painted a bone armoured variant, and I'd been interested in trying nmm copper for the first time. Right from the start my choice of colours was off, both the shading and also trying to transition from rakarth flesh into pure ivory over a black undercoat was probably a bad decision. There are quite a few parts I'm not happy with but overall I think I learned quite a bit. Edit: I feel like I should update this to say that the response to this model has been completely overwhelming. I actually finished this model a couple of months ago and I really wasn't that eager to put it out there because the end result didn't meet my expectations at the time. Painting is far more than just a hobby for me, it's an obsession that recently is starting to have quite negative connotations in regards to feelings of inadequacy in failing to meet my own expectations. Having such a positive response to a model really means a lot to me, and in this case is perhaps confirming that I have a negative bias to everything that I paint to some extent. I'll always be my own worst critic and full of self doubt unfortunately. I just wanted to say thanks for every one of your comments, the amount of followers I've gained in such a short space of time is ridiculous. I have 4 models finished that just just need to be based, whilst I try and figure out a better quality standard for the photos. Could not resist the urge to participate in @warhammerofficial ‘My First Warhammer’ campaign. Luckily I still got the very first miniature I’ve ever painted. This chap was in the painting starter box along with some paints. Still remember painting him on my Birthday night after my parents have presented me with my first boxes of this plastic crack. Little did they (and me for that matter) know that what seemed like a small hobby would turn into a full-fledged obsession and a source of some income as well (I’m always ready to paint your stuff hehe). Looking at these two models I feel that it has been a great journey but there is still a greater one ahead. So much to explore, so many ways to improve! Thanks to GW for throwing this cool idea out.
