I had the privilege today of helping a client declutter her garage. I say privilege because I am truly honored when someone invites me into their home, They are showing me a less than perfect space. It takes courage to do that. We worked HARD. The result was a carload full of donations and a client who breathed a big sigh. I recognize that sigh as "there's less stuff in here. I can breathe again!" I took her donations to The Thrift Place here in Holly Springs, NC where all the proceeds go towards cancer research. Congratulations to my lovely friend and fellow @apdo_uk member @thetidylifeproject for completing her #project3000! Claire has been steadily decluttering over the past year with the aim of removing 3000 items from her home. And she’s done it! Why 3000? Well, the average American home reportedly now contains over 300,000 items. Claire set her ambitious target to remove 1% of this amount... and she’s done it! Not only that, she’s doing it all over again... and this time I’m going to join her. Long-time followers of @more_organised will remember that my family and I got rid of half our belongings when we moved to Scotland from Dubai in July 2017. Many, many thousands of items were donated, recycled or sold. I really wish I’d counted the exact number!
