Flashback to last weekend when we just happened to run into a Josh fan on the boardwalk. It’s very surreal to sit back and watch the sensationalism that surrounds him. He has really become an ambassador of feel goods. People everywhere connect with him. It’s crazy to think that less than two years ago, he was just one of the three puppies that were supposed to be euthanized because they were defective products of breeding. When he was a few weeks old, he was actually bought by a family but then returned to the breeder after showing symptoms of cerebellar hypoplasia. He then lived out the next 8 months of his life in a 4x4 pen on a hard floor in the back of that breeder’s property, inside her boarding facility. I wonder if that family ever thought about him after they returned him. Perhaps they just fell in love with the new puppy that they swapped him out for and went on their way. Or maybe they laid awake at night, thinking about the white patch of fur on his chest and his big smile. What did they name him when they first brought him home? Did the whole family vote on the perfect name and buy him a cute collar? I wonder if that family knows about Josh, my Josh. Do they follow us on social media? Do they know that this brightly shining light, with the fuzzy head, is actually the same puppy they once brought home? To his first family, if you are out there reading this, I want you to know that I named him Josh because it sounds like the name of a little, brown eyed boy. The cute collar that I bought him is two different shades of blue and covered with little palm trees. It reminds me of the beach that he loves to bobble around on. Most importantly, I want to say thank you. You might not have been ready for a dog like Josh, but I was and in the karmic ebb and flow of the energetic world that we live in, we are connected ever so faintly. When you closed that door, it opened for me. Because what you gave, I took. We had a little scare with Mila this week and had to make an emergency vet visit in the middle of he night followed up by a vet visit to her regular vet with Everglades Angels Dog Rescue the next morning luckily Mila is okay and is back getting back to her fun loving energy filled self ! We are still not positive what exactly Mila got into that made her so sick but she became extremely disoriented, could barley open her eyes at all, was very wobbley when trying to walk but was barely moving, and she could not control her bladder was just leaking pee everywhere once she got some fluids into her at the emergency vet she started to seem better and slowly overnight and the next day got back to herself her bloodwork came back all normal but her urine analysis noticed her pee is way to acidic and she will now be out on a urinary health diet . We were very scared for our girl and still are not positive what exactly she got into but the vets are saying she had some sort of toxicity poisoning we are thinking there’s a chance she may have licked a bufo toad or another type of weird frog because they are everywhere in our area. We called Milas adoption coordinator for advice and she sent us right to summit animal hospital and they took care of our girl and made sure she is healthy and will be okay we want to thank Everglades Angel Dog Rescue and Summit Blvd Animal hospital again and again for everything they’ve done for Mila we love our girl so much and could not bear the thought of losing her we will never take our eyes off her for the tiniest second outside ever again and we beg everyone in south Florida to do the same there are so many random frogs, snakes, bugs, etc. down here that can become fatal to dogs we became extremely lucky this time and are so thankful for that Mila is getting all her energy back and swimming, going for walks, and going to the dog park again ! #americanbully #americanbulldogsofig #evergladesangelsdogrescue #summitanimalhospital #bully #bulldog #adopt #adopted #adoptdontshop #adoptedandloved #saved #loveybully #rescue #rescuedog #rescueadvocate #pitbulladvocate #bullyadvocate #rescueawareness #bullyawareness

Odin isn’t 100% himself, but he is sure trying. He’s been showing me his fun loving goofy side this morning, cuddling (taking up a large portion of the bed lol). ❤️❤️ When I was making breakfast, he really wanted some cheese and I was like you know what go ahead my sweet bear. I took a picture of his excitement and it was worth it because before he was refusing all food, treats, etc. and he certainly wasn’t well enough to even walk the short walk into the kitchen to ask for anything. I know very well now how this goes, and there will be a lot of bad days. However, I am really hoping we are lucky enough to have more good days. ❤️ Regardless, it will be fought together.
