Another day, another workout. Seeing & feeling a difference in my upper body mostly right now. I didn’t train it as hard or as often before I started training for the show, so that’s probably why. Also learning the importance of posture & form + the mind & muscle connection. It makes such a difference in training & everyday life. I’m constantly reminding myself “chest up + shoulders back” in @bingfit’s voice if I catch myself slippin out of posture. Up a few lbs, which I’m happy about & it’s getting much easier to consume all my calories per day. Sometimes I even go to bed with more room in the tum tum, so that’s a good sign my body is growing & hungryyyyy .

This was me around this time last year. This picture brings so many emotions to mind. It was the culmination of a season I journeyed through transitioning to motherhood, marriage and so many other changes in my life. When I look at this picture, I see strength, perseverance, God’s grace and yet tenderness still as I am reminded of the many tears shed as I fought to be a better wife, mother, sister, friend, professional and just better person overall finding balance in all the craziness. Life totally rocked me the past 2 yrs leading up to this picture and has taught me so much about what’s truly important and worth going after: mental health, relationships, peace of mind and letting go of people pleasing and striving for perfection. It was also my goal to work toward better health so we could be in a healthy place (physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc) to bring baby #2 into our world. He’s here now and I’m amazed looking back at this. The journey and growth still continues and I’m looking forward to seeing what this second round postpartum has in store for me. It truly does get better. I almost didn’t post this cause there’s a smudge on the mirror , but I mean.... I CLEARLY DONT tend to shy away from a little imperfection *check the feed*. “Perfection” is toooooo easy to achieve in the world we live in now (at least the allusion of it), but owning + embracing flaws sure ain’t. Try it. (P.S. my bad - I see a lesson or connection w/ everything these days, even if it’s just a dirty mirror. It’s somethin like a dope super power)
