Desde 1996 ha podido brindar otro tipo de compra a los consumidores, ropa de segunda de calidad a excelentes precios. —————————————————————— No se si han escuchado de esta tienda, quizás les digan que necesitan tener paciencia, pero si tienen el diplomado en paciencia como yo, se sentirán extremadamente felices y con muchas ganas de regresar. ‍♀️ —————————————————————— ¿Qué encontraran aquí? En sus propias palabras: Piezas de alta calidad, buenas marcas a excelentes precios y cosas que no encontrarías en algún mall. Ahora, ¿Qué yo recomendaría a la hora de comprar? Primero que nada, antes entrar a la tienda, fíjense en la sección de remate de 1,00 DÓLAR. Si necesitan vestidos, en la casita HAY opciones, ¿Blazers? Vintage, de grandes marcas, excelentes precios. Zapatos, m si tienen que usar tacones la casita los ayuda. (una vez encontré unos Chanel a 25 dólares) —————————————————————— La atención es excelente, te hacen sentir cómodo y asisten cualquier necesidad, hay MUCHA opción para cualquier tipo de tallas de ropa y zapatos, tienen accesorios, carteras de muy buena calidad (y si les gusta vidajenear cosas de hogar, tienen un par) —————————————————————— DESTACO: ¡permiten realizar ABONOS desde 10.00 dólares y alquilan vestidos para distintas ocasiones! ‼️‼️ —————————————————————— ¡Pueden leer una versión más larga en mi blog! I went to look for colour inspiration for my monthly newsletter and obviously some plates at Portobello & Golborne Rd Market. I used to go there every Friday morning on my way to the studio and since moving my studio I had to find an excuse to go to the market. I was looking for some plates and bits and bobs and wanted something cute and with history ;) I found lots of plates and a set of glasses, three of my plates (matching) were from 1880’s and I am so happy to be using all these beautiful objects which served people for so many years and keep bringing joy (I paid £17 for 9 plates/bowls, 5 silver plated spoons and a set of 5 glasses) . And spotted lots of beautiful colours and patterns for #createthingshavefun Is this win win win? What a mirroracle it was to find this giant mirror secondhand at the reuse center. I've been looking for something really similar for ages and wasn’t sure it was possible to find used. West Elm has one that was my top inspiration for $699 (which is way out of my budget). Reflecting back I'm so glad I waited bc this one, which is larger and better quality, was only $30!! Plus, west elm has pieces that are like fast fashion of the home wares world- made to sell quick, hit the current trends, and not last very long, ie. wasteful bc they churn out pieces that you'll have to replace fairly quickly. (swipe to see a few more views of the mirror & the inspiration) If you've never hit the reuse center, it's where people drop off bath tubs, wood, tile, doors, industrial furniture, etc. to be reused. The experience shopping there can be framed up simply by saying, you can score big but you've got to hunt through a lot of junk. Supposedly this 8 ft(?) heavy duty mirror came from a barber shop and was hung long ways on the wall. I'm so excited about my score that I wet my plants. Ps. That monstera plant behind me was also a score this weekend. It was 'damaged' so the grocery store had it on clearance for $8.50! Oh sheet! I saw @simply.living.well talking about making a slow home, how we talk about slow fashion often but what about slow homemaking and consumerism in general? ✨Sometimes it feels bedder to hit a big box store, know you'll be able to find everything you need, and be able to finish your space quickly. There's a lot of ampleafication for this type of homemaking on the internet today, people have such beautiful spaces and can tag everything they bought for you to be able to replicate it. As @simply.living.well puts it, 'haven't you ever wondered who makes that stuff, what materials were used, and how long it will last?' Sometimes I get impatient and want something right meow, but I’ve found all the good secondhand pieces take time to hunt down. It's expensive in time but usually much cheaper in actual cost, and the pieces always make me as happy as a bed bug bc they have a great story accompanying them. Take for example this rug, it was $40 from a community yard sale (my fav). I bought it almost a whole year before I was able to use it, but I knew it would be great so it was worth the wait. (Swipe to see my bedroom inspiration.) ⚡️Or this bed frame I found for $30 at a local thrift store. What a releaf it was to find after months of searching for something mid century, low and wood- this baby checks all the boxes. ✔️Nothing else mattress when you find THAT piece you've been hunting. If we want to get specific, my sheets are secondhand, my throw pillow I made from a thrifted curtain, and my cat was rescued from the side of the road so he counts too. Let me frame it up for you, I know these pieces are going to last bc they have already stood the test of time & I'm able to pull them from the waste stream to give them new life. Slow and steady wins the race in my book. I can't beleaf I didn't want to show you this space bc it's missing art and 'finishing' touches- but what is finished anyway? Ps.
