El documental de Guillermo Oliveira nos enseña la epopeya que vivieron un grupo de fans de 'El bueno, el feo y el malo', 49 años después de su rodaje en 1966, para recuperar el escenario donde se produce el clímax de una de las películas más populares y míticas del Western europeo, el 'Cementerio de Sad Hill', enterrado y abandonado a su suerte, en un valle perdido de la provincia de Burgos. En un ejercicio que coquetea peligrosamente con la nostalgia, la mitomanía y el frikismo más naïf, aparecen, además de los valientes y heroicos voluntarios, los testimonios de Clint Eastwood, Ennio Morricone, Eugenio Alabiso (montador de la película) o James Hetfield, cantante de Metallica,que desde hace 30 años inicia todos los conciertos de sus giras internacionales con la escena final del cementerio. Todos ellos alimentan una carrera arqueológica que culmina en la restauración física y sentimental de uno de los lugares fetiche de la historia del cine.'Desenterrando Sad Hill' no es el documental del año pero atrapará a todo aquel que guste de narraciones rigurosas pero inofensivas, amables, curiosas y simpáticas, tratadas con el mayor de los respetos, a pesar de ser aparentemente tan triviales. “El mundo se divide en dos categorías: los que tienen el revólver cargado y los que cavan.Tú cavas.", le decía el Rubio a Tuco. Cinco décadas después de aquella amenaza cinemática, no ha hecho falta que nadie nos apuntara con un revólver para que todos enpuñáramos la pala para desenterrar Sad Hill.
