Один из трендов на выставке в Гуанчжоу - автоматизация рекламного производства. На многих стендах можно было увидеть автоматические линии для сгибания алюминиевого профиля для боковины букв, станки для точечной сварки и др. Но, пожалуй, самыми лббопвтными и неоднозначными в этом ряду стояли 3D принтеры, на которых печатались боковины букв. Из преимуществ - можно напечатать сколь угодно малую букву, боковины могут иметь скошенную форму, нет необходимости в содержании рабочих. Из минусов - низкая скорость печати (пока). Стоимость такого аппарата на выставке была озвучена в диапазоне 4-5 тыс. долларов.

Do you have a multi-tool? If so, what projects do you use it on the most? For me it is #CNC tabs. .

If you choose to use them, a CNC can leave little tabs to keep the center piece in place while the outside waste remains clamped down. On some cnc projects I go back and forth between using clamps with tabs or using no clamps with tape/glue. Tabs are quick and easy to set up in the program and fairly simple to remove with a multi-tool/chisel and then either sand/route them flush. I’m definitely not a pro and find that I do things the hard way, but it seems to work for me. Had a bit of fun today messing around with my logo on the Shapeoko 3. I'm still figuring out my feeds/speeds and other techniques but not a bad first try. This is some hard maple and needs to be cleaned up still. Next time I'm thinking I'll go bigger, so I can use my 1/4in 46202K Spektra bit along with this 1/8in 46125K bit for the details.
