In general, French adjectives are placed AFTER ➡️ the noun they describe. • C’est un livre intéressant. (It’s an interesting book.) • However, some adjectives must or may be placed BEFORE ⬅️ the noun. • C’est un bon livre. For example, LAID (ugly) and MÉCHANT (mean, nasty) will come AFTER ➡️ the noun. • bon (good, correct, right, tasty) / mauvais (bad, incorrect, wrong, nasty) • jeune (young) / vieux (old) • petit (small, little) / grand (tall, big, large) • beau (beautiful, handsome, attractive, lovely) • joli (pretty, lovely, nice) • premier, deuxième, etc (first, second, etc) • nouveau (new) • meilleur (better) • gentil (kind, nice, sweet) • gros (fat, big, large) • long (long) • bref (brief, short) • In addition, all NON DESCRIPTIVE adjectives come also BEFORE ⬅️ the noun they describe : • demonstrative : ce, cette, ces, etc • indefinite : tout, chaque, plusieurs, certains, autre, même, etc • interrogative : quel, quelle, quels, etc • negative : aucun, nul, etc • possessive : mon, ma, mes, etc

Pour dire/demander quel jour on est en français, on utilise le verbe ÊTRE conjugué avec ON ou NOUS. To tell/ask which day it is in French, you have to use the verb ÊTRE conjugated with ON or NOUS. ➡️ On est vendredi. ➡️ Nous sommes vendredi. = It’s Friday Différentes façons de demander : Different ways to ask: •On est quel jour ? Il est parfois difficile pour les apprenants d’entendre la différence entre les mots VIN et VENT . Les sons IN et EN sont effectivement très proches et donnent du fil à retordre à ceux qui apprennent le français ! Ces sons sont tous les deux des sons NASAUX , des sons typiquement français. Je vous invite à aller voir mon infographie sur les sons nasaux si vous trouvez ces sons difficiles. It’s sometimes difficult for French learners to hear the difference between the words VIN and VENT . The sounds IN and EN are indeed very close and give a hard time to those who learn French ! These sounds are both NASAL sounds, that are typically French sounds.
