Is artificial intelligence dangerous? ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ The more I study the advancements in technology, the more I think about artificial intelligence. About the great opportunities and consequences that it can bring. ⠀ ☝Well, nuclear energy was discovered in the last century and it gave us nuclear power plants and atomic bombs. Artificial intelligence can also pose great danger. And the problem isn’t in the fact that it can capture us but in the technical damage it can cause to people. ⠀ We are already so used to our gadgets although we are still able to control them. The threat of artificial intelligence is in the risk of getting dependent on it. In order not to get addicted to this technological drug we should always improve ourselves and stay human. With will, mind and knowledge while machines should stay a useful resource, not an opinion leader.

If you have been dreaming about getting off this planet and reaching the stars, then check this out. Roscosmos and the Cosmonaut Training Center have officially announced admission to the Russian troop. Here’s the plan: ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ 1. Find your ID: you should prove that you’re under 35 y.o. ⠀ 2. Send all your documents and a cover letter to the Cosmonauts Selection Committee. And don’t write something like this: “Dear Committee, I’ve lost my virginity to the ‘Trava u Doma’ song by Zemlyane so I think that you should send me to space. It’s like family to me at this point”. No, only facts, documents and diplomas. ⠀ 3. Speaking of your diploma. Find it and check what it says: engineers and flying specialists are a priority. ⠀ 4. Get ready for your exams and an interview: if at your last university exam you puked all over your fellow student’s boots, then space is not for you. Your academic knowledge, physical and psychological training will be tested in order to make sure that you’re “marriage material”. I mean, you’re perfect for the space trip. ⠀ 5. Clear the next six years in your schedule: here’s the plan after you pass the initial selection - two years for the general space trainings and the final state exam, two years for the group training and two more years to prepare for the first flight. ⠀ 6. Don’t be in a hurry to say goodbye to your friends and write ‘a Spaceman’ in the job column: you can be dismissed at any stage of training and sent home. It’s not that everyone in Roscosmos is mean, it’s just that no one wants to risk your life and create a technical disaster. ⠀ 7. Make up a cool catch phrase on your launch day. Someone should outshine this unfashionable “Let’s go!” after all.

Why do we believe in the existence of higher intelligence? ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ There’re lots of living creatures on Earth. However, intelligence is observed only in some of them. It is a unique phenomenon which has appeared due to evolution. And it might not exist beyond this planet. ⠀ So it turns out that we are alone in the Universe and our aspirations to meet higher intelligence are naive. And it just seems that this supreme mind could solve all of our problems and would be kind to us, the people who have suffered so much on Earth. ⠀ ❤️I think that a higher intelligence is inside each of us. If we work on it’s development with persistence, we will be able to see things which were in a blind spot before, get the whole picture. And if you hope that something is going to come from beyond, you definitely will lose. Be realists and use your abilities to the fullest. Then you’ll succeed)

Why is it dark in space? ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ 13 billion years ago the Big Bang happened. The result of such a powerful explosion was the creation of our Galaxy. And with it - particles, gassed, specks of dust and all sorts of substances. They cling, fly in different directions and block a great amount of light near the Milky Way! ⠀ Moreover due to the expansion of the Universe the sources of light move away from each other and some of the galactic objects don’t even know what a Day is. ⠀ ❤️People on Earth are lucky to enjoy the Sun. No other planet except for ours can diffuse light. ⠀ Would you be able to live in a place where it is always dark?)

All my life I’ve been trying to surround myself with dreamers and people who think the same way as I do) ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ ⭐️And that’s been going pretty well for me! My social circle includes people who share the same love for space and the same aspirations to explore it and improve ourselves. ⠀ Together it is much easier to develop the technologies. Motivation to transform your body is much stronger, so is the desire to share new knowledge and practices with your friends over a cup of tea or with the help of the online community Galaktika Space. ⠀ It would be perfect, however, to combine all that: take a cup of tea, follow Galaktika Space on Telegram, Instagram @galaktika.space, and Facebook and always stay in touch with people who share your space dreams)

What kind of architecture inspires you? ⠀ русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ I love buildings that can transform our perception of the world and geometry. For example, the ones with light and smooth outline which reminds you of space. These buildings seem to hint at the forthcoming flight to the stars) ⠀ That’s why I love Frei Otto’s works: I value them for the innovative approach mixed with the feeling of spaciousness and fragility) Such places get you inspired. ⠀ ❤️Here’re some of his must visit projects - the roof for Olympic Stadium in Munich, Multihalle in Mannheim, Tuwaiq Palace in Saudi Arabia, West Germany Pavilion in Montreal, and the roof structure of the Japanese Pavilion in Hanover. ⠀ Swipe left to appreciate his works and draw inspiration)

Many people believe that aliens are five feet tall creatures with huge head and eyes) and that apparently they speak an unknown language and want to conquer us) ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ Yeah, right) Jokes aside, I think that if extraterrestrial life really exists, it is represented by creatures with high intelligence and superior level of consciousness. ⠀ They travel across the galaxy and they don’t waste their time on some primitive things. They don’t need cars and money, they don’t strive for likes and online fame. They have other priorities. On a universal scale)) our priorities are still on earth scale but we can easily change that. ⠀ ☝We should just focus on our mind, body and continuous growth instead of our fears and love for material possessions. ⠀ A complex preparation of our body and soul will help us understand every edge of the Universe and different worlds) And perhaps in a few years someone will look at us and say “They’re aliens”, it’s just that consciousness will be different.

It always seemed strange to me that different countries consider space to be a place for war. To show their importance countries create space forces and don’t rule out bringing it into action. ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ It really upsets me: interstellar space isn’t meant for that reason, neither is life. Our space mission should be based on uniting people, countries and their efforts in order to explore space for our own sake and for the sake of our children)

Sometimes old junk becomes the engine for progress Imagine two elevators: the space one (made by NASA) and the ordinary one from Moscow which was built in Khrushchev’s days. ⠀ Русская версия в комментариях ⠀ #space_expert ⠀ A space elevator is a construction which allows rocket-free launches of cargo to space. An ultrasound cable with one end attached to the surface near and the other end on orbit. A lift rushes along the cable. And in only 7 seconds necessary things for the astronauts get to the station - equipment, food, a console, medicine, erotic magazines and, of course, a selfie stick. ⠀ A soviet elevator is a killing machine that takes people up and down when they return home from the shops. It has the speed of a lazy antelope, squeaks like a baboon who’s giving birth and looks scary. Usually such lift also smells like someone has died in it but had put on a lot of flowery perfume just before death. It’s fantastic. The only advantage of this box is that it’s real. ⠀ But I believe that there’s nothing impossible for the people who have at least once got stuck in these scary red elevators. Could a person who has rescued a dog, a bike and granny from a partly opened elevator possibly fail to break the laws of physics? Is this person scared of danger? Does he or she know the word “never”? No. This person is motivated by that, intrigued. These heroes, who were born in the Soviet Union and then defeated it, won’t stop. If needed, they would design an elevator to Mars. And when it gets stuck half way through, they won’t panic but instead they’ll say: “Everything’s under control, it’s just a regular situation. We’ll call for an elevator operator at once. And for now...maybe a game of cards?” ⠀ The nation which has made it through the devastation will make it through the progress, too. I know that.
