Today feels like my first Mother’s Day, even though I’ve been a mother for 5 years. We never celebrated the day because my ex husband thought it was a stupid holiday and mother’s don’t need to be celebrated. So if you’re feeling less than today- I’ve been there. I’ve scrolled through Instagram seeing my mom-friends be celebrated and wish my kids just made me a simple card or said happy Mother’s Day. And I know we can put a lot of expectations on just a day, but in those years when I wasn’t celebrated, I always remembered that God saw me. One year ago today is the day I left my ex-husband. I have been thinking about it all week, and all I can really say is that I am overly grateful - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ — ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am grateful for where God has brought me. I am grateful that He rescued me.
