Drachs Jump to Single Leg Box Jump - Building off my first video of Drachs broad jump variation. This is an advanced progression where emphasis remains on an initial powerful concentric foot strike while maintaining foot and ankle stiffness in order to translate to short ground contact time = ⬆️ speed, acceleration, and ability to change direction on the field/court. Addition of the second box requires a forceful knee drive to clear the box and allow for a second powerful concentric ground strike all while maintaining adequate space between the heel and floor. Some progress already showing going into week 2 of my current accumulation phase. Last week for my set of 2 on the hang clean I hit 175 lb. This week 180 for 2 reps felt like a breeze. The bench press was another victory. Week 1 for my set of 8 I hit 195, this week 205. Small progress is progress. . If you haven’t seen the workout here it is below. Sumo Deadlift (I choose to do this with a barbell, you can with a DB, KB, or the barbell); 3 Sets; 8/8/8; Tempo 3000; . Quick note on each of the sets for the accessory work. Hey guys! So I dropped the ball on the 30 day post challenge, but 12/13 isn’t so bad This time of year a lot of my clients do some extended traveling. One of my clients asked me if I could whip up a quick video of bodyweight exercises to keep her moving as she wouldn’t have access to a gym where she was going. Here’s a 2-3 minute sequence, low intensity, but can be repeated in succession 3-5 times with minimal rest in between to get a little sweat going and keep you from getting too stiff while traveling. We are now jumping into the 4th week tomorrow!!! At this point, everything starts hurting, stiffen and tighten, so it is very important to take great care of your body by eating, sleeping and rolling your body in order to improve your recovery time. In week 3, I checked how exhausted my students were and how restricted their body was by doing simple movements. After doing a couple exercises including activation of certain muscles or releasing/rolling muscles helped huge to have better ROM and mobility even stability & control.
