Gear tour! While gear certainly isn't needed to be a therian, it sure can be fun. First up is my lovely swishy coyote tail bought from a local vendor. That's my most stereotypical kind of kin gear. It's not quite right for my theriotype, but it's a whole lot of fun regardless. Next is my fang necklace. Technically it's an alligator tooth, I bought it at a local fair, but it makes me feel more animalistic whether its wolf or not. My moonstone necklace on the next slide is really special to me. It was a beloved gift, and the feeling it gives me is indescribable. The light reflects off it just like the moon, and having a little mini moon around my neck brings me a lot of joy. The wolf chain choker I made myself, so it's one of a kind. It's a little small, so I don't like wearing it too long, but it goes really well with my look and represents my identity. Last is some black ears I bought at an anime convention. They fit on me a little weird but my gods they're soft. Ever since I knew I was a therian I've always been afraid to tell anyone of my lifestyle but with James telling him made my life alot Better, not only does he do the photography for my account he is the most supportive and loving person I've honestly ever been with. He helps me with issues regarding the pack, making art and also being our Pack book keeper. Alright... I wanna talk about the word “kinnie”. Feel free to leave your opinion in the comments if you would like, just keep it friendly. Lately, this word has been circulating (primarily on Tumblr) and there seems to be some sort of controversy surrounding the word. The word was originally used by the various anti-kin communities on Tumblr as a negative and belittling term to describe or put down anyone within the Otherkin and Therian communities that they find “cringeworthy”. It is not supposed to be a good term. It’s not supposed to be a cute term. Some Therians and Otherkin seem to want to reclaim this term and use it to describe themselves or others in the community. Personally, I CANT STAND the word. It’s just SOUNDS belittling! It makes the community look like some child’s game that little kids play on the playground. This type of image is a MAJOR problem and can very easily lead to more misinformation being spread. Due to the history of the word, I am lead to not trust people who use it. To me, people who use the word look like trolls and are more likely to be blocked. (No hard feelings, it’s just my way of seeing it). Obviously, I can’t stop anyone from using the term to talk about themselves, but please do NOT talk about me or this pack while using the word.
