What do you have to UNLEARN to become a better artist? Often we want to learn more and more, but sometimes we need to clear the space in our heads for those new things to settle. Get rid of beliefs and opinions that don’t serve us anymore. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s a list of things I had to unlearn: if you’re not born with a talent, you’re doomed in the world of art you need a higher education in arts to be considered an artist someday the world will discover me, I just need to sit down and wait if my work is not internationally recognized and my art won’t be in textbooks (aka remembered) it’s all not worth it if your photography is not documentary and showing real life, it’s useless. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think I can go on and on with this list. These are just the highlights, there are so many less profound myths in my head I had to get rid of. What about you? What have you had to unlearn? ”Adventure must start with running away from home.” Last night it happened: we put our home up for sale. The place we bought & renovated with all our love 2,5 years ago, down to the finest detail. And though I’m feeling very wistful and emotional to be leaving this dear place behind, we know it’s time for us now to relocate, evolve and reareange our life. Because as they say, feeling sad to leave doesn’t mean you should not go. Another very important thing that I heard from @kutovakika is that your community is important. Yes, when you’re an artist or a content creator, you do spend a lot of time on your own, getting ideas, thinking on them, working, trying them out. But it’s immensely important to understand that you’re not alone at this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That there are people, who are going through the same things and they UNDERSTAND what it is like to be you. The connection is important, since humans are social creatures after all. And of course Instagram and other social media give us incredible opportunities to connect, but it’s even more important to meet that kind of people in real life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That’s why I’m a huge proponent of collaborations, that’s why I like organizing real-life workshops, this is why I think that it’s important to visit relevant events in your area, attend clubs or if there’s nothing in your area, then organize them yourself! That’s why it’s important from time to time to travel just to visit an event in another city or country, even if it requires some investment. Those things will revitalize your art, will bring you ideas and will let you feel the collective vibe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My next trip like that is planned for May, I’m going to Paris for an exhibition - @imagenationparis. 2. Обзор библиотек Хельсинки ⠀ Итаксохраняй! Keskustakirjasto Oodi - крупнейшая и современнейшая библиотека Хельсинки. По мне, лучше эту постройку описывает термин "культурный центр". ⠀ Три этажа разбиты функционально: 1 этаж - большое общественное пространство, где можно договориться о встрече, почилить на диване, (wifi конечно же for free) сдать книги на стойке ресепшен и оформить читательский билет. 2 этаж - зона специализированных пространств для мастер-классов, индивидуальных занятий и всячеств. Здесь проводятся городские воркшопы (например по швейному делу или комп. грамотности) Я была, мало сказать, удивлена, что просто имея читательский билет у пользователей есть возможность забронировать game room, звукозаписывающую студию и пользоваться 3d принтером, оплачивая только расходники. 3 этаж - огромное пространство библиотеки. Здесь есть места для уединения, есть места для групп. И огромное количество литературы на различных языках! Что бы взять книгу и почитать ее на месте - вам не требуется ничего. Ничего! Просто приходите и пользуйтесь, из безопасности - приклееные алармы (которые в Россиюшке тихонечко бы срезали и взяли все, что плохо лежит) ⠀ Здесь же жемчужина здания - смотровая площадка! Три этажа соединяются графичной винтовой лестницей(листай фото). В последствии я узнала, что она была сделана по проекту финского художника Отто Карвонена. Ее поверхность покрыта различными характеристиками, которые можно дать человеку: «Худым, толстым, умным, рассудительным, безграмотным, одиноким, мамам, дружелюбным, автомобилистам, императорам, трансвеститам…», что "тонко намекает" посетителям, что здесь рады всем. Плюсом ко всему мой глаз не смог оставить без внимания грамотную и аккуратную навигацию для маломобильных групп населения и прекрасный свет! Особенно порадовала подсветка полочек Поэтому, ещё одно место в Хельсинки которое обязательно must visit ⠀ ❓Ещё делиться красивыми локациями?
