THE MAIN MENTOR FOR THE DEATH OF THE IMPERIAL FAMILY IN EKATERINBURG: Lenin never rushed when it came to making a decision. He loved to put his enemies against each other. As long as the Romanovs were useful for some political purpose, they would be kept alive in Yekaterinburg. For some time, Lenin even hoped that it would be possible to use them to bargain with the Germans, but with the regional Soviet of the Urals and other soviets hard lines sending thousands of telegrams that required the execution of Tsar, he knew that time was against, but Lenin wanted to make sure that his name wasn’t in any way stained by their murder. What was clear is that the enigmatic Sverdlov, the man who actually commanded the party machine, was the one who moved to seal the ultimate fate of the imperial family in direct talks with the Bolsheviks of the Urals. But this don’t exclude the fact that for Lenin, the Romanov dynasty "was a monarchist filth" and for that the revolution and the "social cleansing" to occur, "hundreds of Romanov heads hading to be cut off.” In the end, it was the argument that the Czechs were advancing that made them kill not only the Tsar but also the rest of imperial family. #tsarnicholasii #romanovfamily #romanovs #monarchy #imperialfamily #russianrevolution #imperialrussia #russianempire #tsar #nikolasii #nicholasii

‘’How beautiful she is!’ That exclamation followed her all along her path, and it is true that her appearance was positively magnificent as she stood there in her bridal array of silver cloth and old lace. Her unusual height helped her to bear the weight of her dress and set off its splendour in its best light. Her mouth quivered a little, and this relieved her habitual hard expression that was the one defect of an otherwise perfectly beautiful face, the straight classical features of which reminded one of an antique Greek statue. The glow upon her cheeks only added to the loveliness of her countenance and her eyes, modestly lowered, gave to her whole figure a maidenly shyness that made it wonderfully attractive.’ Paul Vassili [Princess Catherine Radziwill.] @royalcollectiontrust #TsarinaAlexandraFeodorovna #TsarNicholasII #EdwardVII #QueenAlexandra #LauritsRegnerTuxen #1894 #RoyalWedding #RussianOrthodox #ImperialRussia #Romanovs #Royalty #QueensGallery #BuckinghamPalace #London #England

THE FINAL MATCH FOR EKATERINBURG: On the morning of April 25, 1918, Vasily Yakovlev, the Moscow envoy, said that he had been commissioned by the Central Executive Committee to take the entire Imperial family from Tobolsk to Ekaterinburg, but upon arriving there, he knew that the tsarevich was seriously ill. Because of this, Yakolev received a new command: take only the emperor. The emperor refused to go, but was informed that he had no choice. Nicholas should be ready by four hours in the morning of the next day. The news spread rapidly through the house. Alexandra said she would not let Nicholas go alone. They agreed that the remnants of the family would take care of Alexei and that Maria would also go along with her parents. Alexandra didn’t appear and Alexei was afraid, but, between four and five o'clock, his mother walked into his room, her eyes red, and told that she and Nicholas would leave that night. The whole family spent the rest of the afternoon and evening by the bed of Alexei. At 11:30 pm, Nicholas, Alexandra and Maria went down to say goodbye to everyone. Once everything was ready, the coachmen cracked the whip and the wagons creaked. On May 19, Alexei was well enough to travel to Ekatarinburg. The next day, at noon, Nagorny carried him aboard the ship Rus, who had brought them to Tobolsk the previous summer. On the river trip, Rodionov, the commander of the Tobolsk house also did not allow the girls to lock the door at night. They traveled all day and arrived in Ekaterinburg in the middle of the night. The arrival of the other children in the Ipatiev house caused an outbreak of happiness. It was there that, during his last 78 days, the tsar, his family and the members of his house were confined. “THE TSARS ALSO GREETED THEIR RUSSIAN SUBJECTS”: In the BBC documentary “The Coronation”, the Queen Elizabeth II has stated that a crown can break the neck if the wearer looks down. The imperial crown of Russia, made for Catherine the Great in 1762, with almost 5.000 diamonds and used in later coronations, weighed a little over four kilos, which makes it heavier than the British crowns. Even so, the Romanov emperors developed an interesting tradition which consisted of bowing three times for to the Russian subjects at the top of the Red Staircase of the Kremlin, which gives access to the Palace of Facets in Moscow, where the banquet would take place, as soon as they left the Ouspensky Cathedral, where the coronation took place. The first to do so was Nicholas I (great-grandfather of the last, Nicholas II) in 1826, followed by Alexander II in 1856, Alexander III in 1883 and Nicholas II in 1896. This was representing the devotion of the tsars to the Russian people and also symbolized the work that the sovereign should do on behalf of his subjects, as well as the bond between the millions of people and the "Batiushka" and "Matushka", "fathers" of the Russian people. When this would, the people screamed, cried, and hugged each other excitedly, because the Tsar and Tsarina were regarded as inaccessible and semi-divine by much of the Russian population. These tsars were able to make three greetings, balancing four kilos of precious metals over the head and without breaking the necks. #imperialrussia #russianempire #coronation #imperialcrown #royalcrown #tsars #romanovs #tsarnicholasii #nicholasii #oldrussia #monarchy #romanovdynasty #20century #beautifulcrown

THE EXILE OF THE IMPERIAL FAMILY IN TOBOLSK: In exile, in Tobolsk, in the Governor's House, sitting in the sun, Alexei was silent as Tsar and his daughters walked under the guards' gaze. “The impression I have of them will remain forever in my memory," said Anatoly Yakimov, a member of the guard captured by the Whites: "The tsar was no longer young. He wore a soldier's shirt and an officer's belt with a metal clasp at his waist, his shirt was khaki-colored, the same color as his trousers and had worn-out old boots. His eyes were kind and I had the impression that he was a good, simple, outspoken and talkative man, but the tsarina was different from him. She was serious, arrogant and seemed older than the tsar. All my evil thoughts about the tsar disappeared after I spent some time among the guards. After seeing them many times, my bad impression of the imperial family changed and I had compassion on them all. I had compassion on them as human beings. I kept saying to myself: "Let them escape or do something for them to escape. They don’t deserve to be exiled. They aren’t bad people like the revolutionaries say. The children of Tsar and Tsarina are also good, pleasant and kind people. They don’t deserve this deprivation. Why does no one help them escape? How I feel compassion for this family....”” #romanovfamily #tobolsk #tsarnicholasii #tsarinaalexandra #1917 #imperialfamily #theromanovfamily #romanov #otmaa #romanovchildren #oldhistory #ofrussia
