We care for this honey bear Milton, and urgently hope the right person comes ASAP for him. Milton is scared, stressed, and nervous. He desperately needs an experienced person who can help him manage his insecurities. Milton was brought to the shelter by one of our animal control officers on 8/9/2018 and has been anxious in his kennel since. Staff and volunteers have tried on multiple occasions to gain his trust but he will air snap when startled and has not improved much in the eight months he's been with us. When dedicated volunteers close off the cubby door, he will freeze in a corner. We keep trying to coax him out of his shell but at this time, he will not allow us to handle him and with the shelter so full, he is URGENT and on RED ALERT. This guy deserves the chance to learn that life isn’t so scary after all! We suspect Milton was never given an opportunity to socialize and interact with people. Milton would require someone with patience and time to provide him with proper decompression and socialization training. At 4 years old and 57 lbs, he has a lot of catching up to do. We desperately hope that his guardian angel will see this plea and come give him a second chance at a real life outside the stressful and loud shelter environment. We received an urgent plea to save this very sick dog at the Lancaster ACC. #A5263036 Violet came to the shelter a couple of weeks ago and is not doing well. She is extremely malnourished and has been loosing weight every day. She is terribly neglected and her skin is in a very poor contrition. Violet has a bloody diarrhea and is vomiting occasionally. The shelter doesn’t have resources to take care of the dog in this condition and are seeking help from us. She is a RO dog with a health waiver and will need to go to a vet immediately so they could run analysis and figure out what’s wrong with her. Even thought she is only 2 years old Violet is very close to her end judging by the way she looks and acts. Even though we had extreme expenses lately ( Joy’s surgery, Turtle emergency delivery and Willows tests and treatment ) we cannot stop thinking about this girl and would love to help her. We know that without our help Violet has no chance in life. It’s not fair that she dies all alone and sick after being so terribly neglected and abused. Not on our watch. This gentle spirit was brought in by officers, after a Good Samaritan found him on the street badly wounded from what appears to be a dog attack. This resilient boy is so kind that he was sweet and calm even when emergency vet staff was cleaning and suturing his many wounds. Poor Virgil’s life is in serious danger, as the city shelter is no place at all for a dog in his condition to be recovering. We very much need to find a safe home for Virgil to rest and recover in. Please consider opening your heart and your home to him. Virgil deserves a happy ending after all that he’s been through. Virgil is 8 years old and weighs 70 lbs. Sandy is a bouncy, bubbly, spunky, fun, funky, happy, dances to her own beat type of dog She is always Happy Happy Happy, with a pep in her step and a giant smile on her face. Everywhere Sandy goes there is a trail of laughter, happiness, sparkles, unicorns, glitter, smiles, rainbows, confetti following behind.
