What surprised me the most about the icebergs around us was their activity. When kayaking silently around them, you can hear them cracking and crackling. Since they’re constantly on the move and melting, albeit slowly, if their weight shifts or a part breaks off, the iceberg will cave or roll upside down, setting off a wave.
