Confidence is one of those funny things that tends to change like the weather. It could be something as simple as a new outfit, or a maybe on the flipside the wrong outfit! Little things can bump and bruise our confidence in a variety of ways. And usually it all comes down to how we feel at the moment. ⠀ ⠀ But what happens when our confidence is not based on ourselves and how we feel, but based on our God and His steadfast faithfulness? ⠀ ⠀ We can feel like we’ve hit rock bottom, but still have hope in Jesus. We can feel like we’ve done everything wrong, but still find rest because we have a Father who loves us. ⠀ ⠀ So when you pray, don’t pray based on what you can do because you are so very limited. Pray based on what you know God can do, and what you believe He will do when you ask. He is the true source of our confidence. He is the reason that we can pray big, even when we feel so small!⠀ ⠀ Encouragement today from my husband @williekaz

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6 Hey friends, my hope is that this verse can be a little reminder to actually pray. Have you ever had a friend who never reaches out to talk or hang out, but every time you see them they say something like, “I’ve been thinking about you a lot…”? I have. I find myself wondering, “Then why haven’t you answered my texts?” I fear that we can confuse thoughts with prayer. Just because you’re thinking about it, doesn’t mean you’re praying about it. When you find yourself feeling anxious, make sure you stop and actually pray. Use God’s name, like you would with a friend. Tell Him what you’re worried about. He listens. He hears you. He cares about you. That’s beautiful. The chance to talk with God because He cares about you is nothing short of a miracle. Let’s not keep our anxious thoughts to ourselves - let’s share them with God.
