This week we will be breaking down the last klesha, which is Abhinivesha— it’s probably the most difficult one to grasp both realistically and emotionally. Its also the most powerful obstacle. It’s the fear of death. And the fear of death has two main ingredients: fear of the unknown and fear of loss. When something or someone we know disappears— it’s scary and painful. We think, “if I don’t have a body, if I don’t have senses, if I can’t breath, if I don’t have a mind, then who am I?” Well we practice yoga and meditation to destroy this fear by acknowledging our core being—- our spirit, energy, soul, life force, or prana. It’s independent of the body and not visible to the naked eye. This body that you are in right now is just a physical vessel to hold our life force in this material or earthly world. But this vessel will one day break down. However, our life force never dies. So overcoming this klesha requires trust in a dimension of reality that is much deeper and much more profound that anything connected with material existence. It’s confidence that we are eternal. And when we experience this awareness, our fear of death dissolves. One day, life as we know it will cease— and yet life itself will also continue. That’s the work of abhinivesha. Last night was a night that will forever be engraved in my heart. 20 beautiful humans met 5 days ago, here in the sacred valley of Peru. Strangers all on different paths, searching and seeking for something within. Last night I think we all found what we may have been seeking, forgiveness, gratitude and to never take this life we have for granted. We all cried. Hard. We laughed and held one another tight, embracing the stranger that we met 5 days ago, that’s no longer a stranger, but a sister ❤️ beyond grateful for the inspiring women on this retreat at @samadhisacredvalley and beyond thankful for @az_maa from @adzentureretreats for helping me hold energetic space and making this retreat run beautifully ❤️

I’ve tried this pose so many times over the years and could never get the lines right but @leighyogipilot inspired me to try it one more time!! If you’re a perfectionist and a bit ocd like me, this one will get ya! .
