Pulling my hair back, getting ready to suck.... I mean shove dis burger in my mouth . Happy I finally had the opportunity to check this place out! The quality of the meat here was superb. Definitely one of the best I’ve had around the GTA. I love how the edges of the patties even had a bit of a crispiness to it . They made a few custom burgers for me, so don’t ask which ones these are on the menu . Definitely will be back to try other menu items @ozzysburgers

A few of us were bored one day so we decided to go hangout at @hutaolitoronto. Hutaoli is a chain restaurant/music bar originating from China. They specialize in Sichuan cuisine which is probably one of my favs! I heard from others that the food here was just okay, so my expectations for this place weren’t high. A few people I went with actually went a while back when it first opened. They said this recent time was a lot better! Not sure if it’s inconsistent, or just got better over time though. The spicy stir fried shrimps were delish! The boiled fish with pickled cabbage was soo good! Not much I would change about it unless I wanted it to be more spicy (personal preference though). The mapo tofu tasted almost identical to the one I make at home . The house special roasted chicken was decent but not anything to rave about. I really wanted to try the durian pizza but almost everyone I was eating with doesn’t like durian... I’ll have to get it next time . Overall food was pretty good, and the live music/vibe inside the restaurant was great! The decor was pretty cool too. I’d give it a google rating of 4/5.

Pictures in order from most-to-least favourite dishes from my dimsum experience at “The One Fusion Cuisine.” I heard tons of people rave about this place so I decided to check it out not too long ago. The charcoal salted egg yolk bun was definitely my fav. The yummy filling oozes out, and the buns were pillowy soft. The siu mai tasted fresh; I loved the bigger chunks of seafood they put inside. The white egg tarts were pretty good, but I still like the ones from Chef Tony in Richmond, BC better. I also had their bbq pork buns which are a recommended item on the menu. I thought it was executed quite well, especially with the filling. Overall pretty good but not amazing, I think I had better dimsum at Yang’s in Richmond Hill. It’s definitely more of an upscale restaurant, so expect to pay more.... They even had a washroom attendant .

Super late post from my dinner at La Banane. I heard a lot of mixed reviews before trying this restaurant out myself. My friend and I started off with a small seafood tower; the crème fraîche which came accompanying it was delectable! I’m determined to re-make this sauce at home . The seafood platter overall was tasty and fresh. The only thing I didn’t really care for on it was the scallops marinated in buttermilk. The acidity from the buttermilk completely changed the texture and taste of the scallops. It threw me off a bit, but definitely was interesting to try! I also had the beef tartare which my friend said tasted like a “Big Mac” lol.. after hearing that I instantly could taste the resemblance. It definitely was too heavy on the mustard for me. I saw they had fried chicken on the menu so obviously had to try it (I do love my fried chicken). The skin was very crispy and chicken was moist, but lacking flavour. There was a layer of sticky/gelatinous texture between the skin and meat that wasn’t very appetizing as well. I’m not an expert, but I think it was caused from soaking the chicken in the buttermilk for too long. Curious if anyone else has been here? What are your thoughts? I wish I ordered the fish wellington which seems to be very popular here.

Love @knockout_icecream! No lines (when I went anyway), great flavours and reasonable prices. Got the baby Hong Kong waffle with ube and espresso ice cream ($6)- the espresso flavours were quite strong (without being bitter), just the way I like it! Ube was smooth and creamy . And the Hong Kong waffle was really crunchy! Throwback to when I made moose burgers and topped it off with an insane amount of cheese (and mushrooms). Originally I wasn’t going to post this photo because it didn’t look too appealing.. I played around with an editing app (thanks @thegreeneggeffect for showing me) and turned up the HDR to give it that extra . For anyone who doesn’t know, my Dad goes hunting usually once a year. For the past little while he’s been getting draws for mostly moose. Every time I go back to Vancouver I make sure to bring back a pack or two of meat from one of our many freezers . Speaking of Vancouver... I’ll be back very very soon
