Celebrated my birthday dinner at @donalfonsoto the other week and was quite pleased with the whole experience! If you’re not familiar with this restaurant, it’s actually the only Michelin Star restaurant in Toronto (and all of North America) brought over from Italy. Service was exceptional, ambiance was great- the decor inside was simply stunning. Some of the dishes I had were mind blowing, some were just okay. I ordered both the classic and contemporary menu and actually enjoyed more of the vegetarian dishes! I’ve been told from others that it’s better if you just order al la carte, so I will probably do that next time. Overall a solid 4/5 for me. FYI: these are actually the first photos I’m posting using my new camera. I’m still trying to get the hang of it.. I have so much learning to do! Bear with me

One of the best AYCE hotpot places around the GTA. @Liuyishouhotpot.toronto specifies in authentic Chongqing style. I’d always drive by this place, but never tried it until recently. The frog legs were so tasty! Tiger shrimps we’re huge and good quality too. Our server recommended we get the marinated ribs which is normally not something I would order... or even see on a hotpot menu in fact. The ribs ended up being really good, super tender and meaty! Overall it’s a bit pricey, but the quality is up there so definitely well worth it! Do you have a go-to place for hotpot? Let me know in the comments ⬇️

Throwback to when I made moose burgers and topped it off with an insane amount of cheese (and mushrooms). Originally I wasn’t going to post this photo because it didn’t look too appealing.. I played around with an editing app (thanks @thegreeneggeffect for showing me) and turned up the HDR to give it that extra . For anyone who doesn’t know, my Dad goes hunting usually once a year. For the past little while he’s been getting draws for mostly moose. Every time I go back to Vancouver I make sure to bring back a pack or two of meat from one of our many freezers .
