Jupiter and Saturn, the evening of June 21, 2019. The Jupiter image shows the shadow of Europa.
The mount was the Celestron CGX-L with the Skywatcher 7 inch Mak (2700mm focal length at F/15). The imaging camera was the ZWO-294mc gain was set to 250 and the cooling was set to -10 degrees C.
Both images were the best 200 of 2000 frames at 5ms per frame.
Both images were stacked in Registax and processed with PhotoShop.

This week for Feature Friday we're shining the light on Martin Kermit, aka @urban.astronomer. Martin has a great selection of targets including galaxies and nebulae alike, and he does so from the relatably poor-sky conditions that so many of us have to work in. He has some really great write-ups attached to his images which cover everything from facts on the object to processing techniques he employed, so for anyone looking for a bit of substance beyond just the photos themselves, we would definitely recommend you head on over to his page and give him a follow today!
.
.
Feature Friday is our chance at High Point Scientific to give some appreciation back to the amazingly talented people who make this hobby what it is. Whether or not you purchased your equipment from us we still appreciate good astronomy when we see it, so whether you're an astrophotographer, night scope photographer, or just a visual astronomer with some really cool gear we'd love to see your work! If you would like the chance to be featured on our page then please tag us in your images or use the hashtag #highpointscientific.

The set up was as follows:
CGX-L mount with the C11 and the Starizona SCT Focal reducer-flattener (F/6.3 - 1764mm focal length). The color image was with the ZWO-290 color camera with the LPS-D1 filter.
The gain was set to 150 and the exposure was 8 milli-seconds.
The mono image was with the ZWO-174 mono camera with the 685nm IR filter.
The gain was set to 50 and the exposure time was 25 milli-seconds.
I captured the images with SharpCap and processed them in Registax.
I stacked the best 500 frames of 2000.
No guiding, no flats, no bias, no darks.

I decided to take the CGX-L head inside out of the heat for the next few days. The Phoenix, Arizona forecast is for 110 degree heat all this week.
Since Jupiter is at opposition today (6-10-2019) I went outside last night to capture a few Jupiter images.
Very typical .... there were clouds!! I decided to wait for a time when the clouds were not as thick and squeeeeeeze in a quick capture.
The set up was as follows:
CGX-L mount with the C11 and the Starizona SCT Focal reducer-flattener (F/6.3 - 1764mm focal length). I used the LPS-D1 filter with the ZWO-290 color camera.
The gain was set to 110 (unity gain) and the exposure was 25 milli-seconds.
I captured the images with FireCapture and processed them in Registax.
I captured 2000 frames at about 50 frames per second.
I stacked the best 200 frames.
No guiding, no flats, no bias, no darks.
There is a little round ball-like shape on the very left edge on the upper dark band...that is the moon Io.
The image was taken just before 1 AM local Arizona time.
The image is not all that bad considering it was through the clouds and sometimes Jupiter was totally invisible to the unaided eye.

The set up was the C11 with HyperStar, with an LPS-D1 filter on the Celestron CGX-L mount.
The imaging camera was the ZWO-1600mm cooled to -10C with the gain at 150.
The guiding was with the Stellarvue 60ED and the ZWO-174 mini. The guiding was always less than 1 arc-second.
The targets are M13, M51, M92, M101, NGC 4037/38 (Antenna Galaxies) and NGC 4567/68 ( Siamese Twin Galaxies). All the images were 80 – 7.5 second exposures ( 10 minutes total integration time ) from my backyard ( SQM 18.38 ). Flats and Darks were applied to all the images.

This was my set up for the M13 image.
Celestron CGX-L mount.
C11 with the Starizona F/6.3 SCT focal refucer/flattener (1764 mm focal length). The imaging camera is the ZWO-1600m cooled to -10C with the gain at 300. Lumicon H-alpha high pass filter.
Guiding is with the Stellarvue 60ED and the ZWO-174 mini.
M13 was 12 - 15 second exposures

I did some mono galaxy imaging. Not bad even with the waning gibbous moon. The set up was the CGX-L mount with the C11 and HyperStar. The imaging camera was the ZWO-1600m with the LPS-D1 filter cooled to 0 degrees C. The gain setting was 150. I guided with the Stellarvue 60ED and the ZWO-120m. Flats and darks were applied
The targets were M51, The Leo Triplet, M81-M82, M101, M104, M106, M108 with M97 and NGC 2903.
All the images were 30 - 20 second images - guided.
